SO not only did the Chicago Police release the two brothers who were being investigated in the Jussie Smollett case last night, but there’s this damaging tidbit that came out:
Breaking: Chicago police confirm to @FoxNews CPD seized a bottle of bleach from #JussieSmollet apartment. Tonight police still call Smollett a victim. Suspects told detectives something that requires more detective work.
— Matt Finn (@MattFinnFNC) February 16, 2019
This is why that is important:
For context: Smollett reported his attackers poured bleach on him.

First time Police tell us they took a bottle of bleach from Jussie’s apartment.
SO that would be damaging because he said that bleach was poured on him in the attack. On the other hand, a lot of people have bleach at home. That’s not a weird thing.
But none of that matters because:
This is all getting nuts. An official police spokesman just told me on the record that they have no idea where this information is coming from (re: bleach being seized from Smollett's home). https://t.co/uti4MofqtC

Yeah. Weird.
That's not saying @MattFinnFNC's report is incorrect. It may be. But this is now several days of conflicting information being leaked out of the CPD.

In addition, a bottle of bleach in Smollett's home may mean something. It may mean nothing. It is a common household object.

So, as we often have been doing on Twitter with this story: pic.twitter.com/DuwoLy8zLJ
That’s actually good advice. I know everyone wants to rush to prove that they can filter a story through their political agenda, but this case is not over, and now it seems that there are conflicting leaks deceiving the public…
