AOL CEO: Obamacare costing us $7.1 million, forcing us to cut other benefits

AOL CEO admitted yesterday that Obamacare is costing his company $7.1 million and thus it is forcing them to make touch choices when it comes to benefit packages. Do they pass along the cost of Obamacare to their employees or do they cut back on their matching program?

I work for a large telecommunications company. Our bonuses were just announced. While it’s complicated to explain the process, simply put, our bonuses were significantly less this year than ever before. Is this attributable to Obamacare? It’s feasible… especially since they offered many managers an early retirement package to draw down our employees. Frankly, I think this Fortune 500 company is just trying to hold on and remain profitable… but the employees sure are feeling the pinch.
And please understand… I’m blessed and grateful to have a job and a bonus at all. I appreciate both very much. So I don’t want to come across as spoiled or ungrateful.

Well I have no sympathy for AOL; aka, an Obama Super Pac. But I just can’t help to wonder what hosts at MSNBC will cover this CNBC interview? I’m sure the answer is NONE.

We just took my mother inlaw to the doctor. Her Medicare supplement co-pay has doubled this year from $36 to $78 dollars.

Now think about this…she pays $78 AFTER both Medicare and her supplemental insurance plans pays.

Then think about this….my cash-basis-only doctor visit is $125 flat fee. I’ll consider this the fair market cost of a doctor’s office visit.

$125 – $78 = $47. That it $47 in equivalent dollars from Medicare and Medicare supplement payments combined. Where the hell is all the money workers hare pouring into Medicare taxes going?

Democratscare is designed as a pay as you go system, high-deductibles with high co-pay. The exact type of program that democratscare said wasn’t good enough – can’t have competition. The interesting part is the people are now forcibly taxed to have this system that democrats claimed was not good enough, only the cost of the program to the individual is much higher then it once was.

Has anyone figured out yet how it is Our government can tax us by forcing us to do commerce with an industry that the government heavily regulates and price fixes?

Shouldn’t we be publicly auditing congress to see where they make personal investments, quarterly? Wouldn’t most of us agree when they leave their job their benefits should end too, i.e. tax payer (government) pay and compensation…

Golly gee, Mr. AOL CEO, if you hadn’t given all those millions to Arianna Huffington in order to buy out her snot rag, then maybe you’d have a little money to afford Obama Care.
