  1. Since there have been so many instances of black-on-white violence in the last few weeks (post Trevon), maybe we should ALL operate on the open carry plan black or white.

“A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED.”
When you get a license to carry concealed you have already surrendered the 2nd Amendment. The federal, state and local governments cannot usurp the Constitution by passing laws that infringe on those rights. And by you getting a license to carry concealed, you have played right into their hands. They now know who has such and such weapons, making it easier for them to confiscate those handguns. Criminals never abide by the laws, nor do they register them, but this isn’t about crime, it’s about control.
“When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny.”
As to the carrying of rifles, I see problem with that. If we do more of that then criminals will see that it isn’t worth messing with. Remember, criminals are looking for the easy target. Someone armed with a handgun or a rifle isn’t an easy target. And, let’s not forget, that many in our government are criminals too. Armed Citizens reminds them of who is really in charge. We need to get past this fear of open carry. The ones carrying openly are not the ones I’m afraid of, it’s the ones who hide it that scare me, like a guy with a shotgun under his trench coat in 110 degree weather.
“An armed society is a polite society. Manners are good when one may have to back up his acts with his life.” –Robert A. Heinlein
As to the biblical view, you have the right of self-defense against anyone who is trying to deny you your life (Exodus 22:2). And, let’s not forget that most of the Founding Fathers were Bible Believing Christians who understood it’s meaning, but they also believed in the right to bear arms. I encourage you to read John Jay’s letter on the Biblical View of War:

The Romans 13 reference isn’t about interpretation, it’s a about context. It never states blind obedience to the leaders. Remember that Jesus said, “…pay to Ceaser what is Ceaser’s, and to God what is God’s.”
I will never pay what belongs to God to Ceaser as our government is trying to do today, by removing God from our Nation, and by trying to take His place.

That is a very old quote that has long since passed into “old saying” territory.
A popular bumper sticker from the early seventies read, “If you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns”

  4. MOGuard Kelly60 Yes sir, I’m a lover of our wonderful Constitution.  I believe that it was written by men inspired by God.  I also believe that God tells me in the Bible to follow the laws of the land (Romans 13).  These are also subject to interpretation of course.
You make very good points with your quotations and I admire you for that…thank you.  I think we agree more than you know.

  5. JS2020, it’s sad what they try to force down our throats. I all can say is that I am more vigilant than ever to know how the Progressives try to influence our children. I don’t care what anyone says, call me strict, overprotective whatever. I choose who will influence my kids to the best of my ability! 🙂

  6. Conservative_Hippie Kelly60 I used to think so too.  The only problem I see in that is you take away the element of surprise when you open carry.   Sometimes that’s all you have.   Not to mention, a woman of my size couldn’t fend off someone 6′, 200 lbs if they wanted to take it away from me and shoot me with it…I’d rather hide it so they don’t know I have it….I feel ya though

  7. Kelly60 That is your opinion, but the constitution gives us the right to “Bear Arms”, it doesn’t specify which ones, and our Founding Fathers believed we should be as armed as the Federal Government, that’s why the 2nd Amendment was really created, to give the people teeth against tyranny.
“A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball, and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be your constant companion of your walks.” – Thomas Jefferson
“On every occasion [of Constitutional interpretation] let us carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates, and instead of trying [to force] what meaning may be squeezed out of the text, or invented against it, [instead let us] conform to the probable one in which it was passed.”
    – Thomas Jefferson
“I ask sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people except for a few politicians.”
    – George Mason
“The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops.”
    – Noah Webster
“A government resting on the minority is an aristocracy, not a Republic, and could not be safe with a numerical and physical force against it, without a standing army, an enslaved press and a disarmed populace.”
    – James Madison
“Americans have the right and advantage of being armed, unlike the people of other countries, whose leaders are afraid to trust them with arms.”
    – James Madison
“To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms, and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them.”
    – Richard Henry Lee

  8. Kelly60 I happen to agree with you.  Although I would add that open carry for handguns is fine with me.  I can see how people walking around with long rifles is a bit much.

  9. Remember, Texas does not have open carry for handguns, only unloaded long guns.  And, because of this, police are on alert even more….I have a conceal carry license; however, walking around with a long gun I just don’t condone….too many out there who want to take them from you.  And, frankly, they’re inappropriate to carry in stores and restaurants.  That just incites fear from those who are not educated.  Once you incite fear, the police come and cite you for causing a riot.  Yes, that is in the penal code.
I’m Texan and believe fully in guns but in appropriate venues.  Go ahead, I expect some backlash on this…

  10. Betcha you won’t see many of those “bored” obamayouth trying to kill someone and shouting “Tryavon” in that neighborhood.

  11. DawgfanInFLThe ABC Family channel has a disclaimer that it posts IIRC “The views expressed on this program are not those of ABC Family.” before the showing of the 700 Club.

The 700 club does much more humanitarian work than any other entity that I know of. But ABC family which showed a man and a woman naked in bed at 7:00pm simulating sex puts a disclaimer for a Christian charity channel. I noted the show and looked it up to watch before it started the next viewing and no disclaimer whatsoever for that program.

  12. LoL, That guy at 1:05 been reading the Mark Steyn’s book America Alone. The quote ” If you outlaw guns only outlaws will have them ” is from there.

  13. DawgfanInFL You banned Disney? Gee, I thought I was the only one who noticed the subtle satanism that runs through all of their movies.

  14. Hmmm… I wonder how this would go over in Austin or San Antonio? Open carry is legal in WI but not real practical in Mad City (as they call Madison) unless you like chatting with the nice officer a lot.

  15. sDee
“Good for them. Too many people are afraid of guns simply because they have never been exposed to them.”
Most of the people who are afraid of guns, don’t know what the business end of a shovel looks like either. 😉 😉

  16. Open Carry should be legal everywhere! It’s common sense that the bad guy is much less likely to do something bad if he knows people around him are armed. The brainwashing liberal media, Hollywood, Public Schools and Politicians have most people programed into believing the liberal propaganda and a socialist utopian fantasy. Oh by the way, that we can’t afford! Oh wait we are already BROKE! $17Trillion?!!!! The enemy is within! Tea Party morals and values and a small limited federal government is all we need. Cut Government NOW! Stop Spending Our Nation and Future Generations Into An Even Bigger Crisis! Open Carry Texas you have my full support! Thanks for what you are doing 🙂

  17. It’s kinda sad, gajaw999, I don’t know if I should look forward to Saturdays or fear them, but thanks for the bump and reminder of our history.

  18. VictoriaJohnGalt Your father is an American treasure. I hope he gets the widespread recognition he deserves, but in Obama’s world, much of greats are consigned to the wilderness.

  19. NRA meant National Recovery Administration in the 1930’s of the Walton’s. it was a Roosevelt program of the New Deal. Back then they didn’t need today’s NRA, but I bet it did give you a start,

  20. That was outstanding, Victoria. I’m looking it up now!! Thank you to your husband an your family for service and sacrifice. Keep up your most excellent work!

  21. Add me, Victoria JohnGalt Montgomery on Facebook and our good friend, president of OCT, CJ Grisham! We love adding new members to our Facebook group as well!!
Also it wouldn’t hurt to check out my dad’s awesome blog.. http://www.markamerica.com

  22. This is a little off topic, but as I have banned certain channels in my home (Disney) my kids were flipping through some of the channels left on our tv and stopped on something called the Hallmark Channel? I was floored because they started watching a show from my childhood, The Waltons. Blew me away. The irony is is what did I see posted on the sign in Ike Godsey’s General Merchandise store but an NRA sign.
Sorry, my kids watching The Walton’s show, the NRA sign in Ike’s store, this story. Kind of an unusual day but it could always be worse. Thought I would share.

  23. I keep saying the same, subie201. I was worried how we would all fit, but if we kick the libs out of San Antonio, Austin…I have the image of all the people trying to fit in the phone booth! Lol. No place I’d rather be if possible though!

  24. The law against open carry of sidearms in a state like Texas just strikes me as weird. Kinda like a screen door on a submarine.

  25. “When you outlaw guns, only outlaws will have guns.”
“A freedom not exercised is a freedom lost.”
    That dude gets it.

  26. odin147 Yeah, when she came on the screen I was like woah. She’s FNC status.
A Southern Belle, aaahh, I love it.

  27. I wouldnt worry, there is not bigger cowards then gun grabbing idiots, I dare say that they wouldnt have the courage to try.

  28. Heh, heh. I wouldn’t worry about that. Notice the husky kid in the red t-shirt. Same last name, probably big brother. No sir, I wouldn’t worry about that.

  29. Outside Temple, I believe is where that E-7 and his Boy Scout son were acosted by the two policemen for carrying his AR-15 while hiking. Temple is a good place to start.

  30. What if a bad guy sees that young lady carrying her AR, comes up behind her and yanks it away from her? She doesn’t look strong enough to put up a serious fight even if not surprised. Besides, the sling could easily be used to “sling” her around off balance, off her feet or into a hard obstacle. She could be seriously hurt AND lose the gun.
I much prefer concealed carry, and I know of no way to carry a rifle or shotgun concealed.

  31. subie201  I said when I first heard about it, if it looks like happening, if the Texas State Legislature starts seriously debating it, I’ll move there. Can’t now. For personal reasons I have to stay where I am … for a little while longer, anyway. But hey, if Texas manages it, I’ll bet my last Snickers bar it will spread!

  32. Proudhispanicconservative
Not to worry! Remember, Texas had a movement going to secede from the union….could happen you know!

  33. Man, every once in a while I see something that gives me hope. Between this and the one about the dogs…
And I gotta say, AMERICAN WOMAN! Good luck, kids. Y’all are the Republic now.

  34. Time for Americans to move to states like Texas where freedoms are king, and leave lib states like New York to jerks like Bloomberg! Before long NYC would look like Detroit!

  35. Please protect her, as we speak right now the devilcrats are in the background working very hard to turn her into a blue state. I live in Florida, but Texas is where I would like to retire……. May God continue to bless you folks and Texas.

  36. Ya just GOTTA love it!! We got it made here in our little Country, Texas!
Now when are we going to be able to open carry for those of us that have conceament for hand guns?

  37. Good for them. Too many peopel are afraid of guns simply because they have never been exposed to them.
Instead of letting our public schools teach our kindergartners tolerance of anal intercourse between two men, we should teach them how to safely unchamber a semi automatic pistol.
