A “Strategic Partner” of the Black Lives Matter movement says that the advocacy of “respectability politics” by Barack Obama has led to the deaths of black bodies in a contentious interview with a white woman on CNN earlier today.

It’s a pretty stupefying piece of rationalization but Elle tries to explain that when people like Larry Whitmore ask blacks to have some manners when advocating in politics, he’s pushing “respectability politics” that leads to the deaths of more blacks. When the host asks if Obama has done anything to alleviate the problem, Elle says resoundingly that NO he hasn’t.
The last bit is the best, as the white lady tries to defend Obama and Elle says, “well you’re white so of course you believe that.”
