Trump just took a few questions from the press today and afterward, as everyone was leaving, he took a shot at Jim Acosta after his stunt yesterday, telling him he did a good job at promoting the wall.

Here’s a partial transcript:
TRUMP: Good job yesterday. I appreciate your sales pitch. I appreciate your sales pitch.
ACOSTA: I didn’t see an invasion at the border.
TRUMP: Oh you didn’t…I know. That’s because we had a wall.
ACOSTA: Actually there were portions that didn’t have a wall.
TRUMP: There’s some places that don’t. [pause] That was good promotion for us.
Trump then turned to others in the meeting and said “That was great promotion. Did you see that last night?”
I love it!
Trump also said in the meeting that he’d rather not declare a national emergency, that it’s the easy way out. He’d rather Congress do it because, as he put it, it’s too simple and too basic:
NEW: Pres. Trump calls declaring a national emergency the "easy way out."
"Congress should do this, this is too simple. It's too basic… if they can't do it, I will declare a national emergency." https://t.co/m52hlp4SaF pic.twitter.com/PdDWreOVMJ
