There’s been a lot of talk this weekend since Bowe Bergdahl was exchanged for 5 high risk terrorists from GITMO who are said to be Taliban leadership. And it starts with this deleted tweet from Bowe Bergdahl’s own father:
That tweet can only mean what it says and that’s quite disturbing. No wonder his father deleted it.
And then today his father tweeted for the release of more GITMO prisoners:

Is this father more interested in getting his son back or getting GITMO terrorists freed? Top all that off with the fact that the father gave an Islamic greeting at the presser yesterday:
Is his dad a Muslim? I don’t know, but it sure seems that way give all of the above and that Islamic looking beard he sports.
But even more important is what happened when Bergdahl disappeared back in 2009. A soldier who served with Bergdahl back in 2009, @CodyFNFootball, told his version of the story this weekend and he clearly doesn’t believe Bergdahl just happened to get captured by the Taliban. In fact, according to his story, it looks like Bergdahl was seeking out the Taliban himself.
Soopermexican captured all of Cody’s tweets (here and here) an posted them on his site, both from yesterday and today. I highly encourage you to read them all as they are quite detailed.
In short, Cody describes what appeared to him to be a premeditated desertion of Bergdahl. He describes how Bergdahl sent all of his belongings back home except a camera and a journal, and then one night when the moon lumens were particularly low, Bergdahl disappeared.
In their search for him they found children who told them that Bergdahl was “crawling on his belly through weeds and acting funny a while ago.” They also came upon a village who said someone had come in looking for water and someone who spoke English. They said he wanted to speak to the Taliban:
PLT get to another village, starting asking questions. Tempo has change, we mean business. No circle talk bullshit.

Villagers said an American did come through the area and was wanting water and someone who spoke English. Wanted to meet with Taliban.

The New York Post just posted an article that details a letter that Bergdahl sent to his parents just a few days before he disappeared, telling them he was ashamed to be an American:
Bowe Bergdahl would detail his disillusionment with the Afghanistan campaign in an e-mail to his parents three days before he went missing.
“I am sorry for everything here,” he wrote. “These people need help, yet what they get is the most conceited country in the world telling them that they are nothing and that they are stupid.”
Bergdahl also complained about fellow soldiers. The battalion commander was a “conceited old fool,” he said, and the only “decent” sergeants, planning to leave the platoon “as soon as they can,” told the privates — Bergdahl then among them — “to do the same.”
“I am ashamed to be an American. And the title of US soldier is just the lie of fools,” he concluded. “I am sorry for everything. The horror that is America is disgusting.”
Bob Bergdahl responded in an e-mail: “OBEY YOUR CONSCIENCE!”
So in the end, Bergdahl was traded for 5 high risk Taliban terrorists who are likely to return to the battlefield and kill more Americans. And it appears what we got in return is an AWOL traitor who belongs in Afghanistan.
