DALLAS NEWS – A second explosion was reported Monday in Austin, just hours after a package bomb killed a teenager and seriously injured one other person and 10 days after another fatal blast.

Just before noon, another explosion was reported in the 6700 block of Galindo Street, about five miles south of the first blast. Further details were not immediately available.

Here are some updates from Austin EMS:

Here are more details about the explosion this morning…

DALLAS NEWS – About 6:45 a.m., first responders were sent to the 4800 block of Oldfort Hill Drive in east Austin to investigate an explosion inside a home.

A 17-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman in her 40s was taken to a hospital with serious — but not life-threatening — injuries, officials said. Their identities have not been released.

Police said one of the residents at the Oldfort Hill Drive home found the package on the doorstep Monday morning and took it inside. Both residents were in the kitchen when the package exploded.

The U.S. Postal Service and other delivery companies did not have a record that the package was delivered by them, police said.

We’ll update with more as we get it…
