Squirrel Hill is an area right outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and a gunman there shouting that ‘all Jews must die’ burst into a synagogue there this morning and opened fire. Local news reports that eight people are dead.
Law enforcement tells CBS News that two police officers have been shot. Pittsburgh SWAT surrounded the building with heavy artillery, then rushed the building. After an exchange of fire, in which the two officers were shot, the suspected was also wounded or injured.
Although police tell reporters the suspect is in custody, it is still an active scene and no one has been taken from the building in handcuffs yet.
