BREAKING: Shooting on Santa Monica College; suspect in custody

There’s been a shooting at Santa Monica College which is near a fundraiser that the president is attending:

NBC PHILADELPHIA – Santa Monica College is on lockdown Friday afternoon because of a shooting investigation involving multiple victims, according to campus police.

Campus police at the college in Santa Monica, Calif. confirmed that there are multiple victims, but did not have details regarding their conditions. One person, believed to be the shooter, was shot and transported to a hospital, according to Santa Monica Police.

A fundraiser at which President Barack Obama is in attendance is several blocks north of the campus.

Students are advised to stay away from the campus, according to the school. Students on campus are advised to stay in place.

Witnesses reported a “fully armed” subject discharging a firearm at vehicles in the area, according to the California Highway Patrol. The gunman opened fire on cars and a bus, according to CHP Sgt. Denise Joslin.

“We are aware of at least one suspect, there may possibly be others,” Joslin said.

All other schools in the area are on lockdown, including Roosevelt Elementary and John Adams Elementary schools.

The two-year college is in the 1900 block of Pico Boulevard.

According to Fox News, as I’ve been watching, the shooting occurred in the Library first, but then the shooter exited the library and began firing on vehicles. This is during the week when there are finals going on so the Library is a hotspot on campus.

I’ll update you with more when I have it.

UPDATE: VIDEO REMOVED…as it was wrong.

UPDATE 2: It appears there may have been more than one shooter:
