“But at some point you just have to do the right thing and damn the consequences!” -Ralph Peters on Trump recognizing Jerusalem

Ralph Peters is fully onboard with Trump’s move today to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and announce the moving of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.

Peters points out in the video that America has tried since the days of Harry Truman to pander to the Arabs and Palestinians, hoping that “peace will break out” and that “they’ll see the light.” But the result has been, since 1948, that the Palestinians have always rejected a reasonable peace.

Peters says it’s about time we call their bluff.

“Morally correct, ethically correct, maybe strategically correct – we’ll see about that – but by god this is one Trump policy I fully support!

When asked how this will impact security in the Middle East, Peters argues that we really don’t know because we’ve been propagandized to believe that if we do anything to support Israel the Arab world will turn on us.

He continues:

Yes there may be attacks on US embassies; there may be violence of other sorts. But at some point you just have to do the right thing and damn the consequences! And I think we’re doing the right thing.
