Carney: Paul Ryan plan supporters are aggressively and deliberately ignorant

This administration has now added more to the debt in 3 years than Bush did in 8 years and a nice chunk of that was spent on failed green energy companies. And yet they suggest that we are the ones who are aggressively and deliberately ignorant about energy? Everything they’ve touched has failed and they are aggressively and deliberately trying to keep us from drilling for oil to raise prices and push us to this unsustainable green technology that other countries have already given up on because it doesn’t work. Yet we’re the ignorant ones.

Talk about arrogance:

WASHINGTON EXAMINER – White House Press Secretary Jay Carney didn’t pull any punches in his attack on Paul Ryan’s budget, as he declared that supporters of the budget — and by extension, Ryan himself — are “aggressively and deliberately ignorant” about the need for green energy and other programs slated for cuts.

“You have to be aggressively and deliberately ignorant of the world economy not to know and understand that clean energy technologies are going to play a huge role in the 21st century,” Carney said after decrying the clean energy spending cuts in Ryan’s plan. “You have to have severely diminished capacity to understand what drives economic growth in industrialized countries in this century if you do not understand that education is the key that unlocks the door to prosperity,” he added.

Carney concluded that “the budget proposed by Chairman Ryan and supported overwhelmingly already by Republicans suggests that those problems” — aggressive ignorance and diminished comprehension — “exist in the minds of the supporters of that plan.”

  1. On the whole Green Energy thing they keep pushing….. this comes to mind:

“When I first came here, this was all swamp. Everyone said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built in all the same, just to show them. It sank into the swamp. So I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So I built a third. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp. But the fourth one stayed up. And that’s what you’re going to get, Lad, the strongest castle in all of England.”

  2. Every “clean energy” tech now known requires more energy to render useful than you can get out of it. Hydrogen and alcohol are perfect examples of this problem. Biofuels may have potential, but how many acres of plants and animals, and how much heat are needed to produce one gallon of bio diesel? Then when you burn it, you just get a lot of carbon dioxide and other pollutants. No green there.

Photoelectric cells are good, but how much energy is needed to make one, how long will the required rare earth elements be available, and can they be recycled when they stop working in 10-30 years?

Geothermal is another possibility, but how much does it cost to build a geothermal power plant, how long will it operate, and how much power will it produce?

Wind and ocean power generators are just too feeble and variable, and they only produce power part time. They are also incredibly expensive to build and maintain.

Hydroelectric is out, because the environmental impact of building a dam and making a lake is pretty significant. Nuclear power is also out, paradoxically because it produces so much power that it scares people.

Something will eventually turn up that avoids or solves these problems. We just haven’t found it yet, and we don’t know when we will. The breakthrough will almost certainly come from private research, since the government has focussed on a few technologies that are already obvious dead ends. Until that happens, the best bang for the economic and environmental buck comes from oil and coal.

So, Mr. Carney, what have I missed?

    1. Photoelectric cells are great.

Now let the engineers figure out hope to make them work at night.

  3. What part of “it doesn’t work” do the demon-craps not understand. It is a waste of money. Green energy is a wonderful idea but it is years away for working, if ever.

  4. It’s only ignorant if you are not on board with the plan to install communism asap as seems to be BO’s plan.

  5. “You have to be aggressively and deliberately ignorant of how many Americans have now educated themselves and are wise to the rampant BS of the left.”

Carney: Tool #1 of a destructive and dysfunctional regime.

  6. Green energy technologies may well play a huge role in the energy future of tomorrow… and when that happens, it will be private companies competing and innovating in a free market which lead the way and discover the true breakthroughs which will make it viable. The longer government interferes in the market and subsidizes the losing operations controlled by the politically connected, the longer it will take for the true innovations we need to occur. In other words, Jay Carney is not only ignorant, he is an ass of epic proportions.

  7. Carney has been around the Obama administration’s lies for so long he can no longer understand the difference between ignorance and intelligence. What a condescending comment for someone who gets paid to defend the indefensible.

    1. He’s actually an automoton… and maobama manipulates him while speaking into the mic. “Pay no attention to that socialist behind the white house door.”

  8. Well insulting people is always a good way to win them over isn’t it? You’d think that Obama and his cohorts would at least act like they have some respect for all Americans but they won’t. And calling Paul Ryan ignorant-how much does Carney know about economics? Nothing compared to Ryan.

    1. I’ll be on the mats tonight at my Tae Kwon Do Dojang – we’re praticing those fun flying side kicks. Carney & Obama’s face may make it onto one of our wave bags… Would that be wrong? 🙂

        1. I’ve been known to take out the day’s frustrations on the wave bag – or my sparring partners. 🙂 There have been a few faces mentally plastered to that wave bag…

  9. “You have to be aggressively and deliberately ignorant of the world economy not to know and understand that clean energy technologies are going to play a huge role in the 21st century,”

I’m sure Art Carney Jr. is right; People are going to say it was the clean energy technologies that destroyed the United States of America. This guys a prophet.

  10. Clean energy technologies, the new money scam to replace the old money scam, global warming.

  11. Obama’s party could give a rat’s blank blank blank, to actually have a budget. why? it would crimp their spending

    1. I agree with Obama that Bush spent too much. However, I also believe that Obama has outspent Bush by a ton. Libs are not consistent. They were anti-war when Bush was in office, yet gave Obama the Nobel Peace prize when he created more war and more conflict. They don’t stick to principles. Things I favored when Bush was in I still favor them if Obama is doing them. Libs do just he opposite.

    2. I tried to listen, I really did, but 5 words into this clip I had to stop. I have gotten to the point where seeing Owe’s face or hearing his voice causes me to change the channel or hit the mute button.
