This is already going viral. Last night TNT’s Inside the NBA took 10 minutes to allow Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith (and a little Shaq) to talk about Ferguson on-air. I didn’t see it but apparently Kenny Smith wrote an open letter to Charles Barkley in USA Today about his recent comments on Ferguson.
Despite all that Kenny Smith said, I was disappointed in his response to the grand jury verdict which I thought was at the heart of the discussion. Barkley looked at the evidence and came to a conclusion that he understood why the grand jury didn’t indict Officer Wilson. Kenny Smith, on the other hand, claimed he had no idea whether the decision was right or wrong and claimed he didn’t really care. That puzzles me because that is exactly what this is all about.
