CNN interviewed the brother of the Sudanese Christian woman, Mariam Yahya Ibrahim, who was sentenced to death last month for apostasy and may still hang for her ‘crime’. And it wouldn’t surprise me if her brother is the one who turned her in.
Al Samani Al Hadi told CNN that his sister’s husband fed her ‘magic potions’ to convert her to Christianity. He said if she wanted to come back to Islam, her family would accept her and treat her like the apple of their eyes:
But if she refuses to come back to Islam, her brother says she should be executed:
The interviewer challenged him on the fact that he could watch his sister hang for this. But he said it doesn’t work that way for them. He suggested that he would be punished by Allah if he ‘indulged his humanity’.
