James Comey just had an interview with Bret Baier, and one of the more remarkable moments was when he seemed to be confused about the funding of the Trump dossier.
Watch below at about the 8:45 minute mark:
Comey just says it was “reliable” but says that he’s only read in the media that it was funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign.
This is very odd – is he feigning that he didn’t know the source of the dossier in order to avoid getting in trouble over it?
“Steele was first funded by Republicans” —Comey said this to @BretBaier. This is not believable.

Wow. Fmr Dir Comey is in tatters after 15 minutes w/ @BretBaier

.@BretBaier asks Comey when he first learned Trump dossier was funded by Clinton campaign: 'I still don't know that for a fact,' Comey said. 'I've only seen that in the media.'

In @BretBaier interview, Comey seems unaware/confused about difference between Fusion GPS/Free Beacon period and Fusion GPS/Steele dossier period.

Here’s the second part of the entire interview:
Very interesting.
Ouch. @BretBaier is burying fmr Dir Comey in 5 minutes. “I probably should have said “really sloppy” said Comey. Bret follows “Why let Mills sit in?” Ouch again. Comey reaches for water.

Comey is LYING to @BretBaier, saying the Dossier was not central to the acquisition of FISA warrants

.@BretBaier: "What was the insurance policy Deputy Dir. McCabe, Strzok, and Page were discussing in his office?"@Comey: "I have no idea." #SpecialReport pic.twitter.com/2c8BHtlh9w

I think everyone who does what we do has to recognize @BretBaier interview of fmr Dir Comey as one of the very best, if not the best, polite but determined, well-prepared cross examination of a controversial figure we have ever seen.
