A police officer in Sonora, California was shot in the hip in a shootout at a traffic stop by a parolee who had violated his parole. But when the suspect fled in his vehicle, Officer Ryan Web jumped back into his car and continue to pursue despite the gunshot wound. Later he was joined by other officers as they shot and killed the suspect in another shootout.
I call this officer a hero for putting the safety of the citizens of Sonora above that of his own by continuing to pursue this punk despite being wounded. And the city is now safer for it.
Talk about a selfless act.
