E.W. Jackson said what exactly?

It’s being reported by the Washington Post that during a church sermon yesterday, E.W. Jackson made the following ‘controversial’ statement:

“Any time you say, ‘There is no other means of salvation but through Jesus Christ, and if you don’t know him and you don’t follow him and you don’t go through him, you are engaged in some sort of false religion,’ that’s controversial. But it’s the truth,” Jackson said, according to a recording of the sermon by a Democratic tracker. “Jesus said, ‘I am the way the truth and the life. No man comes unto the Father but by me.’”

UNBELIEVABLE. How dare he profess his faith! And of all places in a church!

So yeah, I completely agree with his comments and applaud him for standing by his Christian principles and professing them. I understand it’s offensive to non-believers, because he’s basically telling them their wrong. Actually, he’s just repeating what Jesus said and it was Jesus who said He is the only way to God.

So yeah, I find it difficult to get upset about this. He’s simply professing his faith, that Jesus is the only way and all other ways are false. I expect that this is something that other religions may also do as well.
