During the midweek Thanksgiving holiday Twitter decided to ban Laura Loomer over a tweet she’d written about Ilhan Omar and double standards. Here’s the tweet:
“Isn’t it ironic how the twitter moment used to celebrate “women, LGBTQ, and minorities” is a picture if Ilhan Omar? Ilhan is pro Sharia Ilhan is pro- FGM Under Sharia, homosexuals are oppressed & killed. Women are abused & forced to wear the hijab. Ilhan is anti Jewish.”
And a screenshot:
After Twitter banned Loomer, Facebook soon followed with reportedly no explanation:

But even her critics are backing her up here and believe Twitter has gone to far:
I strongly dislike Laura Loomer. She even has me blocked. But, she should not be suspended for what she tweeted. Twitter is slowly banning right wingers. It started at the fringes and is now creeping to the center-right. pic.twitter.com/ZI49Q2R8Tp

No. I’m not saying Loomer is center-right. I’m saying Alex Jones is more on the fringe than her. She’s definitely still out there though. That doesn’t mean she should be banned.

Laura Loomer not exactly a leading light of journalism. But I see no reason why Twitter would suspend a user for this tweet: pic.twitter.com/puf7BTB9qO

Whatever you think of Laura Loomer, she got banned because she was making an impact and they thought conservatives wouldn't have a fit if they got rid of her. If they thought they could ban Ben Shapiro, Dana Loesch or even Trump without producing a backlash, they'd do it, too.

can someone in my circle show me what it is Laura Loomer tweeted that forced the alleged unbiased @Twitter and @Jack to ban her? Her comments on Ilhan Omar -- from what I can tell -- are true. Help me out here.#LauraLoomer

Right. I’m not sure what she said here that’s so out of line. Omar opposed a bill last year that would penalize parents who perform genital mutilations on their children. She is very anti-Israel, as her comments have demonstrated in the past. And she even voted against a bill to stop life insurance payments to those convicted of terrorism. Just what exactly did Loomer say that was so worthy of being banished? Was it the fact that Loomer noted that homosexuals are oppressed and killed under sharia?
Ugh.
