Michelle Obama showed how classy she was in front of an audience when she casually dropped an expletive just for fun.
Now, in point of fact she’s actually kinda right about her point:
Former first lady Michelle Obama said Saturday that it’s not always enough for women to “lean in” when trying to find a balance between their marriage and career.
“That whole ‘so you can have it all.’ Nope, not at the same time,” Obama said while speaking in Brooklyn as she promoted her book, “Becoming,” according to New York magazine.
“That’s a lie. And it’s not always enough to lean in, because that shit doesn’t work all the time.”
Many noted on Twitter that the the crowd erupted after hearing Obama curse. Political commentator Touré Neblett tweeted that Obama apologized before saying, “I forgot where I was for a moment!”
I think she’s right about the substantive point besides the cursing. It’s silly for people to pretend that you can easily have a great family life and also a full blown career. It doesn’t always work. Sacrifices are made, and you have to choose which is more important.
But of course all her followers loved her cursing:
Cute moment at Michelle Obama’s book event tonight at the Barclays—she was getting into it & she said, “That lean in shit doesn’t always work!” Everyone freaked out that the First Lady had said "shit.” Michelle, too. She apologized. “I forgot where I was for a moment!” But...

Her checkered boots had me swooning. Also, everything else. Actual tears. pic.twitter.com/mpIH3ffD2o

Anyway I got to hear Michelle Obama accidentally say “shit” and dance tonight in front of 1000’s of people and it truly made my life. She’s a real one. So funny. So raw. So real. SO INSPIRING! pic.twitter.com/oQulqcG6nt

Look, I’m not a prude, I curse every now and then. But I’m not really put up as a role model to kids am I? Michelle Obama is and she should keep that in mind. On the other hand, it’s absurd for anyone to get outraged at this while excusing Trump’s many expletive-filled rants. Oh well no one cares #MAGA!!!
