Georgetown Professor: You can’t use Jesus to cosign bigotry

In the segment below Georgetown Professor Michael Eric Dyson suggests that there are some ‘interesting’ relationships in the Bible, inferring that they might be homosexual in nature, and continues to say that for a man to proclaim his love for Jesus over that of his wife sounds ‘interestingly homoerotic’. But his bigger point is that Christians shouldn’t be using Jesus to cosign their bigotry against homosexuals, responding to comments by Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty (h/t: Truth Revolt):

I guess Michael Eric Dyson doesn’t realize that Jesus, the one he describes as a Jew, is the same God of the Old Testament who said this:

Leviticus 18:22-23
You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination. Nor shall you mate with any animal, to defile yourself with it. Nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it. It is perversion.

Woah, did God just put homosexuality and bestiality in the same little paragraph? HOW DARE HE! Just wait until the left hears about this!

No really, Jesus is the God of the old testament and is the One who proclaimed these things. The big difference is that He bore the penalty for these things, so that when you read in the old testament that someone who practiced homosexuality should be put to death…well, God put Himself to death for our sake in the form of Christ on the cross, all so that we could live with Him eternally.

The clip above is just another example of someone on the left trying to neuter Christianity from the truth it is beholden to so that they can paint us as bigots. The problem is they just don’t know what they are talking about.
