On ‘Face the Nation’ this morning, Bob Schieffer reviews the current state of global conflicts and says it appears as if we’re in a “world gone mad.” It’s probably not intentional, but it’s very accurate that he never once mentions our president, who only voted “present” as Senator, but doesn’t even do that as president on foreign policy.

Schieffer ends with a ominous and weighty quote from noted historian Will Durant:
“…barbarism, like the jungle, does not die out but only retreats behind the barriers that civilization has thrown up against it and waits there always to reclaim that to which civilization has temporarily laid claim.”
Without American leadership, barbarism is reclaiming the world.
