Last night Mark Levin explained the philosophy behind the merger of CRTV and TheBlaze, saying it’s not about personalities, it’s about liberty:

“I know you’ve been reading a lot and hearing a lot about something that just happened, and that is the merger of TheBlaze and CRTV.
“America is the land of firsts. America is the land of pioneers. The old media environment is toxic, destructive and undermining this republic. It is ideologically driven and dressed up as freedom of the press. I’ve talked about it now for a long time, and you see it on your own. You don’t need any help from me. The Jim Acostas, the Jake Tappers, the phony news in The New York Times, where you can’t tell the editorial page from the news page – same with The Washington Post – they’re all alike. They all read alike. The all have the same objective: to advance the progressive agenda.
“The progressive agenda is the antithesis to freedom of the press. It’s the antithesis to constitutional republicanism. The purpose of freedom of the press, like freedom of speech, is to have a robust debate, but not about how to destroy America or fundamentally transform it, but how to improve it, advance liberty and individualism and the core principles in the Declaration of Independence.
“This is not a merger of personalities. It is a merger of pioneers. It is a merger that is necessary. It is a merger that I hope you’ll embrace. We’re the early pamphleteers of this technology, at CRTV and TheBlaze, and we’ve come together to create Blaze Media. We aren’t the wealthiest, we aren’t the most powerful, we aren’t the most famous, but we are part of a new media revolution. And so we wanted to muscle up, expand our technologies, expand our platforms, expand our reach; to go where you, the American people, are, anywhere you are and everywhere you are; to bypass the CNNs and the MSNBCs; to bypass The New York Times and The Washington Post, ABC and NBC and CBS.
“There’re some fellow conservatives out there who are very troubled by this. They haven’t even acknowledged what just took place. It’s okay. They’ll learn to understand it. It’s not about personalities; it’s about liberty. That’s our watchword – liberty.”
I’m excited about the merger. The bias in the big liberal news media is horrible and we need more conservative news media to step up and get stronger, so that it stands the test of time.
