“KILL A PIG NIGHT!” San Jose police taking extra precautions to protect cops in response to threats

San Jose police department is taking online threats against police officers very seriously this New Year’s Eve. The threats were disseminated to nationwide police agencies around the country and weren’t explicitly aimed at San Jose police department.

The San Jose Police Department has not received explicit warnings from anyone, but police agencies have heard of reports mentioning that New Year’s Eve would be “Kill a Pig Night” and “The New Year’s Eve Massacre,” spokesman Officer Albert Morales said.

San Jose and other police agencies have been alerted about the possible threats over the holiday, Morales said.

In response to the online threats, the San Jose police department has made the unprecedented move of assigning two police officers to every squad car so that they can protect each other if they come under attack.
