  1. I’m a liberal on social issues and I am not “just like Obama” in any way. There’s more to this country than gay people and abortion.

    1. NO, there’s a lot less to this country BECAUSE of gay people and abortion.

Look 1 in 10 of my peers was killed before they could breathe the free air. I now have 4 kids. The damage abortion has caused to this country is irreparable. Gay people choose to produce no children, further diminishing this country.

You can maintain a liberal position on social issues, but don’t kid yourself that cumulative effect of societal adoption of your positions has been anything less than catastrophic to the present state of our country.

We are all going to have pick up the pieces of whatever is left over from the coming collapse, but this fact is indisputable: there are fewer Americans today available to shoulder that burden BECAUSE of abortion.

      1. I don’t see how me personally becoming a social conservative makes other people have more babies or makes gay people turn straight and have babies. My point is that it’s not a litmus test for me. If the country is going over a cliff and we have someone who can fix it by cutting taxes, regulation, and shrinking government, but isn’t obsessed with gay people and abortion, I’m not going to go running in the other direction screaming my head off that we’re about to nominate a communist who is “just like Obama”. And I’m also not going to vote AGAINST them if they are a social conservative.

  2. I saw another ad similar to this one but don’t remember who put it out. Watch out Rick, the Romney PAC will see you destroyed and if not them the media will see to it.

  3. It’s about time for what? To expect someone who doesn’t have enough money or support to somehow win the nomination over Mr. Inevitable? Santorum is not going to be president. At this point, any anti-Romney ad only makes it easier for Obama to get elected.

At a certain point you have to stop beating on the guy who is your best chance to defeat the person you are trying to defeat. I was a Palin guy, then a Newt guy, but since we realistically can’t expect anyone else to get the nomination, we are hurting ourselves.

We can vet and slam and critique Romney all the way to election day, just like we did with McCain (who is much worse, in my opinion, than Romney). How is that supposed to help?

    1. So what you’re saying is that because Mitt has the money he’s “entitled” to the nomination? And we should all sit down, shut up and smile? Screw that.

If Mitt Baby wants the nomination he’s going to have to fight for it. Personally I don’t care if he has to crawl on his lips through broken glass to get it. Mitt was acting like a boob when Brett Baier inteviewed him. Mitt complained that the interview was too hostile or some such nonsense. Mitt’s never been thrown to the wolves like Palin was. What Mitt has faced so far is nothing compared to what the MSM and Obama will hit him with. Time for Mr. Pantywaist to toughen up – or drop out.

  4. Rick and Rick…

    >> Rick Santorum and Newton Gingrich are neck and neck.
    >> Rick Perry is waaaaay back.

Perry hopes Gingrich will cause Santourm to lose momentum so that, by default, Perry will catch up.

    However.

As in a horse, race, just because one of the leading horses falls behind does not result in the last place horse pulling ahead.

Whoever pulls ahead of the other, Santorum and Gingrich will still be ahead of Perry who is barely at 5%+.

Perry will pull out soon, and then Sarah Palin will come out and endorse Santorum as the ONLY “consistent” conservative still viable as the ONLY “conservative” contender against the Massachusetts moderate Romney, aka “progressive” Romney, and later the “progressive” socialist / marxist BHObama.

    It’s getting exciting… again.

    Art

    1. Art, it is getting exciting again – though I had always wished Perry could have found enough televised “mojo” to breakout….unfortunately, it never truly transpired. Still, my support is behind Gingrich, Santorum and Perry, whom I hope all gain massive momentum before the SC vote. Gingrich is already rising and the news of Santorum’s probable win in Iowa could invigorate the pro-conservative, Not Romney vote, as well.

  5. Got some great graphics. But the message is still not putting a fire in my belly. Rick Perry’s ads really stir the emotions in me. I still don’t have a true candidate, though.

    1. “get over it?” Seriously? Romney has only 12 delegates I believe at this point. How the heck are you crowning him the nominee already? Do you know how many state primaries happen in just the next few weeks?

You don’t know what you’re talking about. You just hate Santorum and are apparently a Romneybot.

    2. I’m sure glad George Washington didn’t adopt this attitude when facing the British Empire in the War for Independence. Or Churchill when facing the Germans during the Battle of Britain.

      1. I wouldn’t compare Santorum to George Washington and I wouldn’t compare Romney to King George. Obama is King George though and we have to beat him. To beat him you need money and resources and in this day and age you have to appear “electable”. Washington wouldn’t snatch defeat from the jaws of victory if he didn’t have to. But when it is 99% certain that Romney is the only one who can pull this off, that’s what we’re faced with doing. Accept it, Romney is getting the GOP nomination. You have to ask yourself if you prefer Obama to Romney. If you think Romney is worse than Obama, we are all in deep trouble.

The only thing that could change this in my mind is Palin jumping in as an independent. But until or unless that happens, this is the reality. And I am not a Romney bot, I wanted Gingrich in there.

        How’s he doing today?

        1. I’m not comparing Santorum to Washington. My beef is with the defeatist attitude in the original post. No where did I mention Santorum.

Also, do the math .. if the conservative vote was not split, then Romney would not be in the position he is in. Its mainly our fault as a movement.

          1. It’s the GOP’s fault. They choose who we get to have as a “republican” president. Until the establishment is gone, it’s going to be like this every election. I think the only chance we have for a true leader and conservative is if Palin jumps in… but she can’t as a GOP candidate because they would never hear of it.

            1. I was a Palin supporter too. I just don’t see her getting in. I know people think she will, but that ship sailed on Oct. 5th, IMHO.

We also have to take some responsibility for not coalescing around one candidate. If Palin were a candidate, I don’t think all conservatives would have supported her … many bought into the media memes on her (unfortunately).

              1. Hey Philly, nice to see ya.

I ain’t voting for Mittwit EVAH! If Mittwit wins the nomination I also am refusing to vote for the entire GOP down ticket. I’m fed up with the GOP. Obama and Mittwit are the same person. One just gets us to destruction a little bit faster.

                1. JRD! Oh my gosh! How the heck are you? Long time no (cyberspace) see … hope all is well with you in your neck of the woods.

  6. It doesn’t matter what ads are put on the air. Flip rominee will unfortunately be the GOP nominee for President. The worst president in the history of the United States is currently in office, and the GOP decides to nominate a hybrid Gerald Ford/Lincoln Chafee candidate.

I actually miss John McCain. Can’t believe I feel that way, but I actually miss the old buzzard.

We are on a path to nominate someone who campaigned against Reagan, campaigned against the Contract with America, campaigned against those who are pro-Life, campaigned against 2d Amendment rights, campaigned against conservatism, and designed and enacted the precursor to Obamacare from which he will not back away.

  7. Lord in heaven, where have you been. Read my timeline on twitter. I have had that info up for some time now. As much as I like Santorum if we really want to rid ourselves of Obama, Gingrich MUST be the nominee. Santorum himself has said he adopted Newt Gingrich’s vision for Conservative governance. It is Newt’s record that Santorum is running under!

    1. It wouldn’t be the end of the world if Newt wins for me. I think he’s more moderate than Santorum, but overall, he’s a lot better than Mittens and Paul.

  8. Why haven’t the other candidates like Bachmann, Perry or Cain done this over the summer/fall? Now, conservatives are behind the 8-ball with this messaging.

  9. The Republican nomination will come down to a race between Rick Santorum the conservative vs. Mitt Romney the moderate.

  10. The herd mentality in the Republican party is so lame. Romney couldn’t get above 25% for several months anywhere but NH (and half the people who voted there weren’t Republicans), and now the establishment Republicans tell the people of SC who to vote for, that Romney is the safe choice, that it’s Romney’s turn, and the polls start moving in Romney’s favor. Isn’t it obvious? C’mon sheeple of SC, wake up!!!!

    1. Fox is already trotting out some so-called Tea Party activists who are saying that they will in the end get behind Romney. Good effen luck. Fox continues to act as the Romney News Network defending and pushing his record. Shame on them!! BTW, the treat coming tonight will be Hannity in the spin room…. now there’s an impartial and conservative Republican! His head is so far up Romney’s orifice that you don’t know where Mittie ends and Shawn begins.

      1. I always thought Shawn was a Newt fan…I remember in the summer when everybody said he was ‘dead’ Shawn said wait until he debates. Plus, on Thursday I saw him take to task two Romney-lovers on the hypocrisy of Romney attacking Newt on Freddie, which is capitalism too.

      2. That’s actually funny.

Hannity has his flaws but I don’t see him supporting Mittens. And you’re right, FOX has tried so hard to be “fair and balanced” that they’ve gone to the dark side in some respects. Look at how many times they’ve had that hag DWS (the DNC) on their show recently. Shame on them.

  11. It’s great hearing candidates questioning Romney for not releasing his tax returns, who does he think he is? and is looks like he’s trying to hide something!!

    1. they’re already coming ofter him, didn’t you hear about the ad that accuses Rick of voting to allow felons to vote? this is just the counter strike. (but made with actual facts!)

      1. Lion? ROLF. He is a dumb, constitution-avoiding progressive. Worse, he is about the most unlikable politician to ever run for president. He is in the same ballpark as Bill Clinton on using the words “I” and “me”. Reminds me of the song Rush plays from time to time, “It’s all about me . . . ”

            1. Nice and civil… shout down the opposition and then use demoncratic-style attacks. Saul? Saul Alinsky? Is that you?

For the record… if I see even one of your comments in my inbox, it will go unread to the trash can. You are not rational.

              1. You obviously got to this thead late, and haven’t a clue what has transpired.

Save your Saul Alinsky BS for the GOP establishment types.

BTW, if you don’t want anyone to respond to you, don’t post replies to them. It is that simple. Geesh! Where do these people come from . . .

              2. For all reasonable Right Scoop posters, I opened my Inbox today and it was flooded with 5 unsolicited emails from “Sober_Thinking” (so-called, but I have my doubts). Then he/she had the arrogance to demand (twice) that I not flood his/her Inbox with comments (like he/she did to me). “Sober_Thinking” (so-called, but I have my doubts) is almost as arrogant and self-centered as Rick Santorum.

          1. What is your problem? Can’t you carry on a rational debate? Tell us Rick Santorum’s positives. I can’t think of any, and he was my senator for a long time in PA. Oh, I voted for him because the alternative was far worse. But he is no constitutionalist. He is, and always will be, a big spending fiscal RINO. I would rather have Newt any day. Perry would be far superior.

  12. About time is right!

Romney was the chosen pioneer of Government Healthcare. That he is even on a Republican Primary ballot tells just how far the Republican party has fallen from the Constitution and its role in protecting the Republic.

  13. Great ad. But he should have just put up a picture of Romney and Obama for 0:31 seconds, with a banner saying: “Spot the Difference. Can’t? Neither can RICK SANTORUM. Thats why he’s running for President. Vote Santorum!”

      1. Thanks ABC. I was thinking it was time to go with something new for 2012. And there it is lol. By the way, I’ve mellowed slightly with regards to Santorum. I’m tired if I’m honest. I can only imagine how hard it is for the likes of Bachman and Santorum constantly facing public ridicule and scrutiny for their hope in Christ and his morality. Still, I always thought the GOP field this year was somewhat mediocre. But it is still better than that of 2008. Till 2020 when a West or West-type will run, I’ll just pray for what we’ve got now. God Bless Santorum and grant him the courage he needs to run this race for the White House with integrity…

        1. I totally understand. You know my first choice wasn’t Santorum- I’ve been like quite a few folks here, first Sarah, then Herman, then Bachmann. Now I hope for Santorum. I hope I’m not a jinx! He’s the best choice right now from who we’ve got, and although he’s not perfect, I think he’d make a great President.

          1. Dear Jinx,

Don’t be doubting daffy do-gooder. I think Santy would make a good President too.

            Respectfully,
            Rabbit’s Foot

  14. Romney is the most comparable candidate (in previous policy) to Obama, I have said this all along. This is why Romney is doing so well, the National Media and the establishments on both sides want him as the nominee. Romney may be the most electable candidate but he is no Conservative. I would rather see anyone else but Romney win the Republican nomination. Of course Ron Paul is a big no as well. This is my wish list- 1 Santorum, 2 Perry, 3 Gingrich, 4 Romney. If we get stuck with RomneyCare I will support a ‘Tea Party’ uprising for the next election cycle, after 2012. I feel we need a true Conservative Party to embrace real Conservatives like myself and The Tea Party Patriots. The Republican Party will not have gotten the message that the Tea Party is the majority by backing a RINO (Romney) so it will be time to make some changes if necessary. We will see.

      1. His record is his record. Fact…he voted to raise the debt limit 5 times. Santorum says…I did not raise your taxes without mentioning he raised the debt limit/borrowed the money to cover the spending he was not willing to raise your taxes for…that is what cowards do.

He voted for the bridge to no where for pete’s sake. I could go on…

        1. He gave a perfectly good answer to your nitpicking, on Huckabbe’s “Forum2”. But then again, you don’t care do you. You just want to spout for Paul. Don’t you get it yet?! Nobody likes that man. He’s a LUNATIC; RACIST; ANTISEMITE; ANTI-AMERICAN; EXTREME SECULARIST; AND CRAZED EGOTIST. Oh and did I mention LUNATIC too!!

Now you know the definition of brainwashed when an individual chooses THAT over a guy who raised the debt ceiling a couple of times (admittedly a mistake in some instances) and has explained time after time (in a legitimate manner) his reason for doing so.

How do I make you understand this, Jim: Alex Jones is NOT GOD; And neither is Jessie Ventura his SON!

        2. Yep, he like EVERY OTHER CANDIDATE is far from perfect. But aside from maybe Perry, he is the best candidate of the group. In his debate last night, he addressed some of his mistakes and vowed to not repeat them. I know he’s another politician and promises on the campaign aren’t worth crap… but we have to trust someone and unite behind that person if we are ever going to get a decent candidate nominated.

If it isn’t Santorum, who then? Mittens? He’s Maobama lite. Ron Paul? He’s just plain wrong on so many issues. Gingrich? Good ideas and a ton of baggage… and maybe another moderate like Mittens. Rick Perry? I’m fine with him but so far most Americans aren’t… he’s gained no traction at all.

Santorum has acknowledged his mistakes and has pledged to do almost all of the things we conservatives want a new president to do. And he is absolutely electable. I appreciate your opinion and you point out a few notable short comings… but Santorum is the most balanced of all the candidates and he has my vote. I hope he’ll have yours too.

      2. Spout your nonsense somewhere else. Santorum is a big government RINO. I know for a fact because that clown was my senator in PA. Wanna hear something you have never heard about Santorum (at least not from him)? He claims to be opposed to bailouts, but in reality he loves crony capitalism and bailouts. Why do I know? Check out his voting record on that boondoggle named AMTRAK. Fiscal conservative, my ass.

          1. Like you are doing with my inbox? My reply was not to you, so what is you motive? Are you seeking sympathy?

Please don’t waste my time. If you have a valid defense of Rick Santorum, spit it out. I would like to hear it.

All I know is what we had to put up with all those years he was a congressman in Pennsylvania. Ever wonder why he lost in a landslide his last election? Don’t you think all that will come out in the general? The Left would crucify him.

  15. Great ad…finally. More please.

Unfortunately, it won’t matter much unless TWO of Gingrich, Perry, and Santorum drop out (especially since Huntsman is out) and endorse the other one, but I don’t see that happening.

  16. Rick, thata boy! I loved the picture of Romney looking like a devil. Haha! Romney is Obama jr. Rick didn’t exaggerate at all. He is sticking to the clean campaign promise.

    1. Rick’s own words will defeat him. Here he is on the Federal Reserve, the Constitution, and Inflation:

      1. You’re so silly. That video shows Santorum trouncing that Paultard… nothing else! Want to try again?! Pfft… didn’t think so.

        1. Are you kidding? Did you miss the part about inflation? How about the part about constitutional money? The Fed has practically destroyed our economy and way-of-life (as Jefferson predicted), and you don’t get it ? You are so silly.

          1. The Fed may be the bad guys but Paul is worst. I’ll take my chances with Santorum thank you very much

            1. What the hell does Paul have to do with it? Is that your way of trying to divert attention away from the shady, big-spending politician from Pennsylvania who looks at the constitution as a license for big government, rather than a guarantee of limited government? I’d take Perry any day over Santorum. Frankly, I’d take a random dog catcher over him.

          2. The Fed must go – period. So I can see Ron Paul replacing Ben Bernanke… but I can’t vote for him as president. His debate last night revealed (again) how vulnerable and off base he is on some subjects. B.O. would rip him apart…

            1. I was referring to Rick Santorum. What does your reply have to do with Rick Santorum?

BTW, you flooded my Inbox with replies this morning, and you said nothing of substance. Please don’t waste my time. I am old and fed up.

      2. He’s made some misteps along the way no doubt. But he remains a viable and attractive candidate nonetheless. Don’t underestimate him.

  17. Why is no one pointing out the fact that Romney also implemented cap and trade in Massachusetts and that one of Obama’s czars (John Holdren) was one of Romney’s advisors?

  18. Don’t worry, Haley will tell everybody to knock it off because Romney is her man and he gave her $36,000 dollars.

      1. Man, that’s really cool that you have a time machine and came back to the past to point out our folly. What a baseless thing to say.

    1. Disqus likes to have issues! Trust me, it’s not Scoop! I’ve been having issues too. Double check that you don’t have multiple postings (that’s what usually happens to me).

    2. I had the same problem earlier today. warpmine replied to let me know mine hadn’t posted, but when I went back, it had posted.
