Newsweek declares Obama the first gay president

The absurdity on the left knows no boundaries. Politico reports that Newsweek is declaring Obama as the first gay president with this tripe:

It’s easy to write off President Obama’s announcement of his support for gay marriage as a political ploy during an election year. But don’t believe the cynics. Andrew Sullivan argues that this announcement has been in the making for years. “When you step back a little and assess the record of Obama on gay rights, you see, in fact, that this was not an aberration. It was an inevitable culmination of three years of work.” And President Obama has much in common with the gay community. “He had to discover his black identity and then reconcile it with his white family, just as gays discover their homosexual identity and then have to reconcile it with their heterosexual family,” Sullivan writes.

They are actually comparing race to sexual preference? Yes, I said preference. Unlike skin color, there is NO evidence to support the idea that babies are born gay. People want to believe it’s innate but it’s just that, a belief. And a well crafted belief to elevate the idea of being gay far above preference into something that can tear at the fabric of the institution of marriage.

But really, this cover and explanation simply shows the un-principled depths at which the left will go to support a Democrat president, no matter how much he is playing them. It dosen’t matter that our president, who believes in a massive federal government, voided any responsibility he might have to actually support the gay movement by leaving this one issue for the states to decide. They give him a big pass on that as if they are all of a sudden a ‘states rights’ party. He totally played them for money and they bought into it to the tune of 15 million dollars – and that was just the first party. And now they are making him divine once again, as if everything he has done over the past three years is totally forgiven.

I can’t imagine what Chris Matthews did when he saw this cover:
