Obama won’t support ‘Kate’s Law’; Brother of Kate responds…

A bill that is intended to keep illegals who are criminals off the streets by forcing Sanctuary Cities to obey federal law is apparently too strict for Obama, as he’s threatened to veto it:

WASHINGTON EXAMINER – The Obama administration on Thursday threatened to veto a House bill that would strip federal law enforcement grants from “sanctuary cities.”

The bill would deny cities that refuse to enforce federal immigration laws certain Justice Department grants, and is expected to get a House vote on Thursday. The bill is a response to the shooting death of Kate Steinle by an illegal immigrant who had been deported several times.

Last night Megyn Kelly had Kate’s brother on who expressed frustration that the Obama administration has already said they wouldn’t support Kate’s Law. Near the end he does add that Trump has called the family twice and that he respects him.

UPDATE: I’m not sure the bill Obama threatened to veto is specifically Kate’s Law so I’ve changed the wording to reflect that. The Obama administration has suggested they won’t support either bill though, so it’s not a big deal.
