Ocasio-Cortez is angry about what she says is a double standard and she’s telling the world about it.
Here’s her tweet:
Just to get it out of the way, the VOX article Ocasio is linking complains that Paul Ryan conned all of us with his grandiose fiscal promises, only to leave us with higher debt and deficits in a growing economy than when he began as Speaker. Honestly, I don’t think many of us would take issue with that characterization.
But what I think Ocasio is really trying to say in her tweet is that she’s being mistreated by the right because…..she’s a woman. Yeah, that’s not it at all.
There’s a chasm of difference between her and 28-year-old Paul Ryan. For starters, he wasn’t espousing ridiculous socialist nonsense when he came on the scene. And he didn’t sound like an airhead either.
- Paul Ryan never promised medicare-for-all but couldn’t explain how to pay for it.
- Paul Ryan never wanted to get rid of the electoral system…because slavery!
- Paul Ryan never wanted to take back all three CHAMBERS of government…you know, the House, the Senate, and the presidency!
- Paul Ryan never compared Jews fleeing Nazi death camps to immigrants trying to break into our country.
To quote Nick Cannon: “I’m just saying… should we keep going???”
For her to suggest that how she’s being treated is a “double standard” against the likes of 28-year-old Paul Ryan just shows how desperate she is to hit back at the criticism she’s getting from the right – and her inability to do so without making herself into some social justice victim or something.
