Occupy DC violent protests at Tea Party event video roundup

Last night at the Defending the Dream Summit in Washington DC, Occupy DC showed up and things got violent as people tried to break into the facility. Videos have been going around this morning and I wanted to aggregate them into once place to give you a good idea of what really happened last night, since the media seems fairly mum.

The first is by College Politico who was there to record protesters using their children to block the doors:

At the start of the scuffle the protesters had been able to get inside the convention center and set up a makeshift barrier. This barrier consisted of what appeared to be several large wood trash cans from the center, a large metal recycling bin from the center, the two small children sitting in their wagon, and several occupiers either sitting on the floor or standing up.

The security guards, which may have been assisted by police officers (I’m not sure), then began moving the trash cans and forcing back the protesters. At first only about 5 or 6 protesters resisted the security guards while the rest filmed everything but as they forcibly pushed the protesters and the children’s wagon out of the doorway other protesters became incensed. At that point several other occupiers began screaming and pushing back against the security guards.

The Daily Caller was also there to record events. It was nothing even close to peaceful:

Occupy DC protesters tried to force entry into the Washington Convention Center on Friday, where Americans for Prosperity is hosting their “Defending the American Dream Summit.” The protesters also formed roadblocks, surrounding the convention center and only allowing non-luxury cars to pass.

Kerry Pickett from the Washington Times was also there with video camera running:

Occupy DC protesters attempted to bust into the Washington DC Convention Center on Friday night, where an Americans for Prosperity dinner was taking place. Protesters aimed their ire at AFP donors Charles and David Koch throughout the night. Interestingly, David walked through the crowd of protesters with friends and associates of his and went completely unnoticed by the Occupy DC crowd. I captured video of a throng of protesters trying to muscle past security at the DC Convention Center to no avail.

All of this happened right in the nation’s capital, Washington DC. There’s absolutely no reason for this not to be on a part of every news hour in the 24/7 news cycle. But alas, it’s not the Tea Party behaving badly so why would they want to run it?

UPDATE: Here is one from Hotair of a woman in a wheelchair that couldn’t leave because of the protesters:
