Rule Number One when reading polling items in the MSM: Go to the source; go the spreadsheet and you will see the stats which they do not want you to see.
Case in point?
Vox headlines today that “54% of Republicans say that deep down Obama is a Muslim.” The goal of this headline is to point out how “crazy” the Republicans are, but according to this very poll only 16% Independents and only 45% Democrats believe that Obama is Christian.
Regardless what religion Obama practices, few even in his own party believe he is Christian.
The Vox writer (@Max_Fisher) says that these results are “according to a newly released poll by Alex Theodoridis” but in his eagerness to trash Republicans, Fisher focused on the charts of the item and not the text where Theodoridis says clearly at the top of the article that this survey was conducted in fall of 2014 and that it shows that Scott Walker’s statement regarding Obama’s religion actually makes Walker a moderate.
Basically, not only is Fisher cherry-picking data from a poll which is bad news for Obama; he is too sloppy to notice that it is an old poll.
This poll and the poll yesterday by You Gov both show clearly that the public opinion is much closer to Giuliani and Walker on these issues than what the MSM and those Leftist “journalists” want you to believe. But as in the You Gov poll, the Media including the “open-minded” and “balanced” commentators inside DC totally ignore the majority data in these polls which go against their narrative.
