OK here we go again. It doesn’t look like Prada admitted that these things are racist, they just pulled the display and defended the design, saying they were imaginary creatures.

Hmmm. I’m gonna sit on the fence with this one. Overall, I don’t think it’s such a big deal and I don’t think it’s worth freaking out over and boycotting and all that jazz.
But it *does* remind me of the racist caricatures from a hundred years ago. If I were the designer there’s no way in heck I would ever release this as an “imaginary character” and not expect some blowback.
So I can see what people are saying. But do you really think Prada is trying to insult black people in this day and age? I don’t. I think it was an accident, and understandable one. No need for silly outrage, let’s just all move on, people. Nothin’ to see here!!
