There’s a report out this morning that Trump ignored the guidance issued to him, that included all caps language telling him not to congratulate Putin on his presidential victory. It also advised him to condemn the poison attacks in the phone call.
Now John Kelly is reportedly furious over the leak:
DC EXAMINER – White House chief of staff John Kelly on Wednesday plans to address the swift leak of guidance issued to President Trump not to congratulate Russian President Vladimir Putin on his election “win” earlier in the week when they spoke on the phone, according to a report.
Kelly is furious, the official said, and will address the matter as aides look into who could have leaked the national security advisers’ Tuesday warning to Trump: “DO NOT CONGRATULATE,” CNN reported. Trump disregarded the guidance and congratulated Putin, and also ignored a request that he condemn the poisoning of a former spy and his daughter in England, which several countries say is the work of Russia.
“This is unacceptable,” the official told CNN, adding that some believe the leak was made as an attempt to embarrass the president.
Kelly isn’t the only one upset by the leaks. It’s being reported that Marco Rubio is more upset over the leak than he is that Trump congratulated Putin:
Marco Rubio told us that he didn’t like the fact that Trump congratulated Putin but he was more fired up at the leak of Trump’s call to the press. Rubio’s message to the leakers: If you don’t like the guy, just quit, he said.

Sen. Rubio says he doesn’t like Trump congratulating Putin, but he doesn’t like leak of national security advisers’ warning either. Says if you don’t like working for the president, leave.

If Kelly does address this publicly today, we’ll be sure to bring it to you.
