REPORT: Trump expected to announce he will NOT be forcing citizenship question on the 2020 census… [LIVE STREAM]

Trump will be giving a news conference in the Rose Garden outside the White House in less than an hour on the issue of adding the citizenship question to the 2020 census. You can watch the official White House live stream below when it begins at 5pm:

But there are new reports out now that this ‘executive action’ by Trump will not force the citizenship question onto the 2020 census. Rather, they intend to collect the citizenship data by other means:

THE HILL – President Trump on Thursday is expected to issue an executive order directing the Commerce Department to collect citizenship information by other means than the U.S. census, according to an administration official.

The move would effectively sideline the Trump administration’s bid to force the citizenship question onto the 2020 census, which the president abruptly announced after the Supreme Court ruled late last month against its inclusion.

But administration officials have cautioned that the situation is fluid and the plans could change.

We really don’t know how this data would be collected. The Hill points out that The American Community Survey, which is sent out very year, only surveys a small portion of the population.

So for those of you who expect Trump to use an executive order to force the question on the census, you might be in for a disappointment.

Or who knows, this new report could be huey. We’ll find out at 5pm.
