Rush Limbaugh got a call from someone who was upset that he spent the first hour and a half of his show trying to explain what happened last night when Trump said that he believed there should be a penalty for a woman seeking an illegal abortion.
Rush and the caller went back and forth for a while on the issue until Rush finally explained why he spent such a long time on it, and it’s because he said what happened last night was hugely damaging for the Republican Party in November.
Rush explained that he was simply doing everything he could to limit the damage from last night that he said gave the Democrats the energy the haven’t had in this election thus far. Rush pointed out that Democrats are suffering from low turnout and not having a candidate they can really get excited about, and last night basically rejuvenated them and gave them new ammunition and excitement.
Rush went on to say it’s not about defending Trump or not defending Cruz, but rather trying to keep the Democrats from winning in November.
