Sarah Palin: I was right about Paul Revere

C4P had the answers on this before anyone else noting that it was Sarah Palin who was correct and the media who got it wrong. And Sarah Palin affirmed that this morning herself by saying that she was indeed right about Paul Revere and explains why:

Even Chris Wallace supported her answer noting that he wasn’t quite sure and had to google it for himself, and said at the very end “we both know now”.

Poor libs, they just exposed their stupidity and willingness to smear someone again without the facts. I guess they’ll never learn that Sarah Palin is right.

I loved it..  Gov. Palin, bested the media, about the US Histroical facts on a Pattriotic American, ie; Paul Revere, and they hated it..  as they hate anything and anyone, especially Gov. Sarah Palin, that is Patriotic and American. and that includes President Reagan, whom they despised as much as they do Gov. Palin.

That is why they are called Anti-American.

Experts back Sarah Palin’s historical account

“Boston University history professor Brendan McConville said, “Basically when Paul Revere was stopped by the British, he did say to them, ‘Look, there is a mobilization going on that you’ll be confronting,’ and the British are aware as they’re marching down the countryside, they hear church bells ringing — she was right about that — and warning shots being fired. That’s accurate.”

Didn’t anyone notice that Palin had notes in front of her during the entire exchange with Wallace? (Hence the close camera)

Nothing is ever committed in her head (with the exception of her trademark “it was a gotcha question” response).

I hope she does run…please please please Sarah…run for President…you are the gift that keeps on giving

yes, very scary, to think of a candidate that regurgitates answers to scripted questions is frightening.
i still cant believe the writing on her hand, how juvenile. seriously, when was the last time you did something like that?
she needs a psychiatric evaluation. she’s a narcissist of the highest order. “spotlight, spotlight, prize” or she doesnt care.

So now the liberals’ angle is that Palin says part of the point behind his legendary ride was to warn the British and that’s ridiculous for him to be warning the British of anything on that night. But I’ve learned to look out for how these videos are presented on the news so check this out… At no point do I see her make the connection of what she’s talking about in the original video. That assertion is made by the news anchors introducing the story. At least not in the any of the clips I’ve seen and I’ve seen it from CNN, MSNBC and local channel 7. If there’s raw footage of the “interview” I haven’t seen it. There is never a lead question shown from whoever asked her the question. All we get is the news anchor introducing the clip as if she’s talking about the legendary night.… Read more »

If she didn’t want the attention she shouldn’t have painted a bus and announced her tour-I think she is a big girl and a tough girl and handles things on her own just fine. What concerns me is the inability of her followers to admit when she has made a mistake-but then again she has yet to make one right?

ALL MERELY SYMBOLISM
lets inspect substance, shall we?
mc cains campaign bus was some 10-15 year old rental with vinyl letters.
palins “tour bus” doesn’t match-up.

anybody get the idea her wardrobe and big hair are as made up as she is?
how hard will she work for you if she quit on her home state?
i’d guess a psychological revue would find a person addicted to the spotlight, and easily bored after winning the peageant.

i’ll stick with tried and true Ron Paul to know what this nation should look like.

Over the last couple of years, while others were planing on how to convince us that they have ample capability and fortitude, Sarah was confronting Obama’s damaging policies, fighting off the media, and showing us she has ample capability and fortitude.

She, among other things:
Jump-started the weakening of Obamacare. (Death Panels)
Gets Obama wee-wee’d up.
Rallied and strengthened the TPMovement.
Gave us quick and correct decisions on issues.
Gave us TPM-Republicans in the House and Senate.
Saved the GOP from nominating someone for 2012 who couldn’t even beat McCain last time.
(This last one is ‘in progress.’)
And most important in my and some other cases anyway – she helped us have hope.

That ain’t quitting.
2012 can’t come soon enough. Game on.

The Liberal rag, ” The Daily Mail.” had this story up a couple of days ago, but I never heard anything about it in the blogs here, till today. That paper is forever going after Sarah P. but they never retract any of the lies they spew about her. I think the Brits still can’t get over the ass whipping the took here.

They have another blurb on there today, saying how she defends her “gaffe”. I wrote a comment on there yesterday pointing out how she was right and they were the idiots. They also have a post on how The Daily Show beat most of the Fox News shows in the ratings. Ugh!!

The left hates our history. The left has no place trying to act as though they know or care about our history. They “Revere” Lenin. We “Revere” Revere.

I don’t know if any of you watch Pawn Stars, but someone bought in a War Bond to their shop, that was signed by none other than that great Silversmith and courier Paul Revere. I think he called them the “REGULARS” when referring to the British.

KenInMontana

The term is correct when applied to the British “Redcoat”, Regulars was the term used during that time for uniformed Infantry, units like Rodger’s Rangers,Militias or Rifle Companies of the Napoleonic era were referred to as “Irregulars”,modern Special Ops would fall under the definition of Irregulars.

NJK,

Please come to Concord, MA on any Patriots’ Day. Check out the reenactments (including the capture of Paul Revere, the site of which I drive by regularly) & the parade. Come to our Patriots’ Ball. I think it’s fair to say that are quite proud of our history.

Then check out our voting records. Obama beat McCain by over a 2-1 here in November, 2008.

Obama beat McCain 2 – 1, but people have wised up.
Obama says he is going to raise a billion dollars to campaign with.
He better, and he knows it.
He sure can’t campaign on his work performance.

This incident is just more proof of how Palin is held to such strict, high standards and how her detractors, and her supporter’s detractors, harp on the least evidence they find of why they think they’re right about Palin and the rest of us are stupid drone followers.

No matter what Palin said nobody can deny she said it very poorly. That was the most incoherent statement I’ve ever seen Palin make. She mangled that one good. So what? I’ve also never, ever, seen Palin look tired. And she looks tired there. So she gave a rambling statement, which was factually correct, at the end of a long, hot day, and that’s not only proof she’s an idiot but all of us supporters are blind followers.

It’s blind critics who are not willing to cut the woman any slack at any time.

The part she got wrong was that no bells were actually rung.

RefudiateObama2012

Yes, bells were rung, church bells, cowbells, any bells they had. This account in “Paul Revere’s Ride” by David Hackett Fischer (Oxford University Press 1994), may be of interest :

“A townsman remembered that ‘repeated gunshots, the beating of drums and the ringing of bells filled the air.’…. Along the North Shore of Massachusetts, church bells began to toll and the heavy beat of drums could be heard for many miles in the night air.”

Look it up.

syphax

Yes, the bells were rung along the North Shore, to warn other colonials (not the British Regulars). But Revere didn’t go anywhere near the North Shore; those towns were alerted by Doctor Martin Herrick (you can look it up).

Palin got both the essence and the details of Revere’s ride wrong. I say that as someone who lives in Concord, MA, a couple miles from the Old North Bridge (the import of which you can look up). The Sudbury Minutemen march by our street on their way there. Neither Bachmann (of Concord, NH fame) nor Palin leave us very impressed.

Revere ‘Warned’ the British Officers

“At last the [British] officers began to feel the full import of what Paul Revere had been telling them. His words of warning took on stronger meaning when punctuated by gunfire. The sound of a single shot had suggested to them that surprise was lost. The crash of a volley appeared evidence that the country was rising against them. As they came closer to the Common they began to hear Lexington’s town bell clanging rapidly. the captive Loring, picking up Revere’s spirit, turned to the officers and said, ‘The bell’s a’ringing! The town’s alarmed, and you’re all dead men!'”

[Paul Revere’s Ride by David Hackett Fischer, pp. 135-6].

Alas, what Sarah said was, “He who warned the British that they weren’t gonna be takin’ away our arms by ringing those bells, and makin’ sure as he’s riding his horse through town”. But as you admit, the only warning he did occurred after his capture, at which point he was neither ringing bells, nor riding his horse (he was in fact at gunpoint, and did a marvelous job of working his captors, in order to discourage them from going to Lexington, where Samuel Adams and John Hancock were. The bells that were rung and the shots that were fired were done to spread word among the colonials. The fact that some of these shots did in fact further spook Revere’s captors is a happy occurrence, but is not central to the import of Revere’s ride, which stealthily and successfully raised sizable colonial militia forces in Lexington and Concord. Simply… Read more »
