Steve Kerr, the head coach for the Golden State Warriors, just infuriated many on social media with the most appeasiest answer he could give when asked about China’s human rights abuses. Specifically, he morally equivocated by trashing America:
Steve Kerr on if he's ever been asked about human rights during his previous trips to China:
"No. Nor has (America's) record of human rights abuses come up either… People in China didn't ask me about, you know, people owning AR-15s and mowing each other down in a mall." pic.twitter.com/56mNC7LmID

What a jerk. Seriously. And a moron to boot.
First of all, human rights abuses are typically done by the government, not some wacko who decides to shoot a bunch of people in a mall.
Secondly – well I’ll let Jonah Goldberg spell it out for ya:
Let's see. Because he's playing moral equivalence between the US today and China today. China is committing cultural genocide with the Uighurs in front of the whole world. It's crushing Hong Kong's fight for democracy. And he's making it sound like Coke versus Pepsi. https://t.co/bmKDK5W52M

Here’s more from Twitter…
Better to say nothing at all than to engage in lazy apologetics for Chinese regime repression. I understand that the league only pretends to care about principles when it doesn't hurt their bottom line, but I though Kerr was made of more serious stuff. I guess not. https://t.co/oaHUz3t8Yx

Straight outta MMFA.
In fairness to Kerr, it takes a long time for blood to make it to your brain when you're tall. https://t.co/9bti74uxQC

Steve Kerr comparing the right to gun ownership in America to China locking up millions of religious minorities in camps and censoring any criticism of their regime.
Maybe "shut up and coach" might not be the worst advice for some people… https://t.co/XZCKQEQNvb
