Syrian FM: Assad regime will declare its chemical weapons and sign the chemical weapons convention

You better believe that Obama will say he ‘built this’ tonight:

AP — Syria’s foreign minister says President Bashar Assad’s regime will declare its chemical weapons arsenal and sign the chemical weapons convention.

Walid al-Moallem also says Syria is ready to cooperate fully to implement a Russian proposal to put its chemical weapons arsenal under international control and it will stop producing chemical weapons.

He adds that Syria will also place chemical weapons locations in the hands of representatives of Russia, “other countries” and the United Nations.

Meanwhile, Russia is making demands of US:

POLITICO – Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday that for the proposed Russian agreement that Syria turn over its chemical weapons to work, the United States must take military action off the table.

“Certainly, this is all reasonable, it will function and will work out, only if the US and those who support it on this issue pledge to renounce the use of force, because it is difficult to make any country – Syria or any other country in the world – to unilaterally disarm if there is military action against it under consideration,” Putin said, according to RT.com.

Putin also confirmed that he and President Barack Obama discussed the possibility of such a solution on the sidelines of the G-20 Summit last week, saying they agreed to have Secretary of State John Kerry and his Russian counterpart get in touch to move the idea forward.

clockwindingdown The Sentinel  MaroonRepublic  Great, you have been paying attention too, haven’t you? You suppose the MSM will catch everybody up on this?

I have my doubts. They probably feel that this is not required for the general public to know. I’m certain they know and understand how this world turns. But when you have an agenda, you do what you have to do.
Knowing they’re in the tank, and maybe some of Assad’s liquids need to be put in the tank, just for a good cleaning.

Conservator1 NPC1 It’s something we will not learn about for a long time.  are these rebels experts in handling any of this stuff? Could have been accidental? made mistaken identity of what kind of weapon the rebels were using?. Why have some of the earlier reports of rebels using these weapons, gone cold? Who knows. Lot’s of unanswered questions yet, but time will tell.

NPC1 The only problem I have with that NPC1 is the targets of the chemical weapons were in a rebel control portion of Damascus. Why would the rebels bomb themselves? But in the end, who really knows?

Oh, God. I didn’t see that and don’t want to.
You sort of take a chance on seeing such when you go there, but there is no use pretending it doesn’t happen. That’s what her site is about. It (the spread of such violence against the innocent via Islamic sharia or any other source) has to be blunted  or preferably stopped now before it is the so called ‘new normal’ here as well.
About Syria and the mineral rich Caucasus, yes major wars are always fought over natural resources and/or ideology, but mostly resources. I had a conservative professor in college (the course was Military Geography) who could tell you how every major war in history was ultimately about resources. Anyway, I don’t think I will ever trust a major media outlet again. Should never have.

Conservator1 I have never been convinced that Assad used the chemical weapons, I’m convinced at least within  my own reckoning that the rebels used them. And I think Obama is backing the wrong side. Read my earlier post to ‘famous wolf’.

famouswolf Yeah she has a lot of guts and determination, she put news out there that you won’t find elsewhere.
Did you ever go to Boiling frogs post.com? I wound up there a couple of months ago and learned all about the problem about Syria and the Boston bombers  and why that area where the Boston bombers were from is so important. That entire region north of Syria is extremely mineral rich. And a lot of people are very very interested in it, mostly Russia. Are you putting two and two together yet?  2+2 is not 5, as you are being lead to believe. What is happening currently is just the start of things that will unfold and will last a long time.

njmom I think NPR is spinning it that O is so dang smart cause he cooked this up and he talked to Putin about it at the G20 and then he had Kerry kinda drop it into conversation like it was a gaffe and then …  At least that’s what one of the construction crew was telling me he heard on the radio this morning. I know he usually listens to NPR.
Honestly, I had a hard time not laughing but I did roll my eyes.

It’s -hard- to look at some of the stuff there sometimes. However, I think Pamela is a true heroine in exposing the truth that can really destroy us if it’s allowed to hide and fester.
The difference between what the msm tries to portray Islam as and what she presents is stark, and horrifying.

This is the ‘more flexibility’ he told Putin he’d have? What, is the idiot working with Putin to undermine us everywhere?
‘Cause when you step back and look at it, that’s exactly what appears to be taking place. Neither scenario is particularly healthy for us, that or Putin is just throwing o around.

Judging from some of the political cartoons today, maybe not this time.
Check out Atlas Shrugs today. Pamela collected a bunch from the moslem countries, pretty bad since those are the guys o wants luvin’ from. These things get around, too.

Obama will take credit.  He will save face and become a hero all at once.  The threat of force was only meant to get Russia engaged in a solution.  Yeah, and my car gets 1,000 miles to the gallon….with sea water.

Desjardins  Nope.  According to Obama and McCain, they don’t have any….despite the evidence and the UN saying earlier in the year that they believe they have used them.

You know… I’ve tried to work up some interest in this… but sorry, I just don’t care about obama and his fantasy world anymore.  I don’t even plan to watch the speech tonight, all I can think anytime I see the buffoon is “liar” or “fraud.”   So, no deep insights from me here… just totally don’t care.  obama has finally become totally, absolutely inconsequential and irrelevant in my life.   The hell with the narcissistic bastard, I’m going to ON DEMAND and catch up on “The Bridge” or “Burn Notice”, my two guilty pleasures, during his pathetic “PLEASE LOVE ME” speech tonight.

Barack Hussein Obama’s Syria Speech to America  As of this writing, President Barack Hussein Obama had not delivered his much-touted address to America regarding his and Secretary of State’s John Kerry’s itch to launch an “unbelievably small” bombing assault on Syria, an unbelievably insignificant, secular Muslim nation which has never attacked our country and which never even had the audacity to threaten us prior to Obama’s threats. Our waffling leader, who has managed over the course of four and a half  short years to undermine his and America’s credibility and reputation among both our allies and enemies with his indecisiveness and hesitation over critical issues, will most probably blame everyone from George W. Bush to the GOP in general to Syria’s Bashar al-Assad to evil gremlins for his murderous Syrian itch since they obviously caused this non-crisis and he was regrettably saddled with the responsibility of resolving the mess. The key to understanding Obama’s… Read more »

KGB Putin to the rescue – really? Just last month Putin made Obama look feeble while disagreeing with America and supporting Assad and Syria. “…As America edges closer to a retaliatory strike against Syrian government forces in the wake of a deadly chemical attack, Russia is digging in against international intervention. Russian President Vladimir Putin has been increasingly dismissive of President Obama’s policy demands — offering asylum to NSA leaker Edward Snowden and brushing off Obama’s insistence that gay athletes be included in the 2014 Winter Olympics set for Sochi, Russia. Putin’s government agrees that chemical weapons were used in Syria, but not with the U.S. assessment that they were deployed by government forces rather than Islamist rebels. News that the Obama administration scrapped plans to meet with Russian diplomats on Syria options reaffirms the new chill in the already icy U.S.-Russia relationship…” http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/08/27/putin-shoves-back-on-syria/ Now he’s going to be the… Read more »
