This Carson nontroversy is still making news and Tammy Bruce nailed it today, defending Ted Cruz on Fox News, pointing out that CNN isn’t a Twitter network, that they ran breaking news coverage of this on CNN and that Cruz was only responding to the news report that even made the CNN hosts skeptical, with Blitzer even calling this a ‘significant’ story:
Tammy’s point is excellent. CNN ran coverage of this. The Cruz campaign surely saw this on CNN and that’s what they went with. In the rat race right before the polls opened I doubt they got it from Twitter.
Even the chyron blatantly said this on CNN when they were discussing it on TV:
In campaign terms, ‘taking a break’ basically means leaving the race.

I understand how they didn’t seen the follow up statement until later. Maybe if CNN had ran the statement from the Carson campaign or mentioned that Carson was not leaving the race, this whole thing wouldn’t have happened.
As I’ve been saying, it’s a nontroversy that both Trump and Carson are still trying to use to pummel Cruz and they are pathetic because of it. And CNN is surely to blame.
