Ted Cruz: if GOP can’t pass health care bill, then we need CLEAN REPEAL

Republicans are looking at the prospect of failure of the GOP health care bill in the Senate, and Ted Cruz for one says if that happens, they need to seek a clean repeal.

Watch below:

From the Washington Examiner:

Speaking Sunday on ABC’s “This Week,” Cruz said the GOP’s goal should be to see premiums go down with their new legislation, but if they can’t agree on how to do that, they should change their focus to solely repealing Obamacare.

“If we can’t get this done right now, I agree with the president, then let’s honor the promise on repeal,” Cruz said.

He said a repeal would take effect “a year or two years from now” and in that time, Republicans would debate new healthcare legislation.

John McCain said that the bill is basically on its way to defeat:

And there you go. Will we get a clean repeal? And what will be the political fallout if people lose their Obamacare and the Republicans still haven’t passed anything in its place?
