Ted Cruz ended all doubt today that he was afraid to say Trump’s name, telling the media that he did vote for Donald Trump and he’s getting on a plane with Trump’s name on it:
It does seem like some Republicans are afraid to say ‘Donald Trump’ in relation to their support or their vote. I can understand why, especially those running for election now.
But Cruz finally said it, cementing his 2016 legacy as one going from his family being viciously attacked by Trump to endorsing Trump for president and then campaigning with him in the final stretch.
Look, I’m a big Ted Cruz fan. I know this doesn’t look good for him and I’m sure he was pulled in many directions after his speech in July at the RNC. But at the end of the day, there are few like him in the Senate and if I were a Texan, I’d gladly support him for reelection in 2018. We need people like Cruz there who won’t sacrifice their principles like the rest of the bunch.
