The “Pennsylvania Patriot” newspaper may think they’re patriotic, but shutting down dissenting opinion doesn’t seem to be true to the roots of the country. After the Supreme Court ruling today that feelings are more important than the Constitution and words have no meaning, the editorial board at Pennlive posted this notice:
As a result of Friday’s ruling, PennLive/The Patriot-News will no longer accept, nor will it pring, op-Eds and letters to the editor in opposition to same-sex marriage.
Then after a few actual patriots on twitter started mocking the Fascist idiots, they changed it just a tad so that they don’t look so totalitarian and stupid:
As a result of Friday’s ruling, PennLive/The Patriot-News will very strictly limit op-Eds and letters to the editor in opposition to same-sex marriage.
These unions are now the law of the land. And we will not publish such letters and op-Eds any more than we would publish those that are racist, sexist or anti-Semitic.
We will, however, for a limited time, accept letters and op-Eds on the high court’s decision and its legal merits.
The march of progress is often slow, but it is always steady.
“Progress” of course, is so weak and irrational that it cannot take any critique or rational debate.
