Trump campaign threatens to sue TV networks over airing incredibly false ad…

Priorities USA, a despicable Democratic Super PAC founded in 2011 by Obama’s former deputy press secretary Bill Burton, is running an ad now claiming that Trump called the spread of the coronavirus a hoax:

It’s patently untrue. Trump didn’t call the coronavirus a hoax. He called the criticism from the media and the Democrats of his response to the coronavirus a hoax. He called their criticism a hoax, not the coronavirus. Even the Washington Post debunks this lie which also showed up in a Biden ad. Snopes debunked it too.

Here’s the video so you can watch it yourself with the transcript below it:

“Now the Democrats are politicizing the coronavirus. You know that, right? Coronavirus. They’re politicizing it. We did one of the great jobs, you say, ‘How’s President Trump doing?’, ‘Oh, not good, not good.’ They have no clue, they don’t have any clue. They can’t even count their votes in Iowa, they can’t even count. No, they can’t. They can’t count their votes. One of my people came up to me and said, ‘Mr. President, they tried to beat you on Russia, Russia, Russia.’ That didn’t work out too well. They couldn’t do it. They tried the impeachment hoax. That was on a perfect conversation. They tried anything, they tried it over and over, they’ve been doing it since he got in. It’s all turning, they lost. It’s all turning, think of it, think of it. And this is their new hoax. But you know we did something that’s been pretty amazing. We have 15 people in this massive country and because of the fact that we went early, we went early, we could have had a lot more than that.”

According to the DC Examiner, the Trump campaign is now threatening to sue TV networks for airing the false ad if they don’t cease and desist immediately:

President Trump’s reelection campaign has threatened to sue television networks if they continued airing a political ad the president’s team claims is “misleading.”

Priorities USA, a liberal super PAC, crafted the ad, titled “Exponential Threat,” which has caused a stir among Trump’s campaign.

Alex Cannon, an attorney for the Trump campaign, sent cease-and-desist letters to every station airing the ad, threatening legal action if they don’t stop, according to Mediaite.

“PUSA’s advertisement is false, misleading, and deceptive, and we formally demand that your station refuse to continue airing it to meet your responsibilities not to broadcast false information,” the letter read.

“Should you fail to immediately cease broadcasting PUSA’s ad ‘Exponential Threat,’ Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. will have no choice but to pursue all legal remedies available to it in law and in equity; we will not stand idly by and allow you to broadcast false, deceptive, and misleading information concerning President’s Trump’s healthcare positions without consequence,” the letter continued.

Just to remind you, Priorities USA is the group responsible for the despicably false ad in 2012 accusing Mitt Romney if being responsible for the death of woman who had cancer after her husband lost his health insurance. They are known for their false ads and TV Networks should not air anymore of their ads, period.
