I saw this report earlier and was hoping that the administration would deny it – so far they haven’t.
From the Hill:
Mevlut Cavusoglu said that Trump told Erdoğan during the Group of 20 Summit in Argentina that the U.S. is working to extradite exiled Turkish cleric Fethullah Gülen, who is accused of orchestrating a failed coup against the Turkish president in 2016.
“I have recently seen a credible probe by the FBI on how the Gülen organization avoids taxes,” Cavusoglu said, according to Reuters.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Given how despicable Erdogan is, I think this would be a terrible horrible mistake. And I’m not the only one:
And you know Andrew McCarthy is NO never-trumper hater, he’s been defending the administration up and down for a long time. He is one of the admin’s most intelligent defenders.
McCarthy wasn’t too happy about this tweet either:
Trump is pretty lucky the bench for the Dems looks absurdly weak. Not that I think he should just assume a victory in the re-election campaign in 2020, but, traditionally presidents win re-election. However, I don’t think these tweets are helping. If they are putting doubt in a guy like McCarthy enough where he’s speaking out, trust me, he ain’t the only one out there.
That should be it for this weekend. I hope you all had a great end-of-the-week. As always, we really appreciate your readership. Even when you talk crap about me in the comments!! YOU KNOW who I’m talking about!!! JK.
So have an open thread on me – here’s some comment fodder:
There were a few moments that were funny in this SNL take-off of It’s A Wonderful Life, one of the greatest movies ever produced:
This is pretty predictable throughout, but the very ending has a funny joke:
This is awesome:
Really good takedown by this mascot:
Funny moment here, shot by @rossdomoney, where a French policeman aiming a flashball gun at #YellowVests protesters stop to greet and kiss one of them who he appears to know. pic.twitter.com/MzYmRw1sLl— Jake Hanrahan (@Jake_Hanrahan) December 16, 2018
Adorable. Y’all have a good evening, you hear?
