A CNN reporter who covers the First Lady expressed disbelief on Twitter that the Second Lady, Karen Pence, would work at a Christian school that observes Christian doctrine as it relates to homosexuality.
Of course, the way she spun it was to accuse the school of discriminating against the LGBT children and adults:
So, lemme get this straight, the second lady of the United States has chosen to work at a school that openly discriminates against LGBT adults and children. https://t.co/A4lxOv7V8G

It’s a Christian school. It’s called freedom of religion. Geez.
As you can imagine, Twitter exploded over Bennett’s tweet:
I think it would behoove CNN to train its reporters at least to understand Christian churches are going to follow Christian doctrine.

You don't have to agree with it to acknowledge it. https://t.co/xpIx84pCxd
So lemme get this straight, you are a reporter for CNN and this is the first time you've been introduced to the concept of a Christian school? https://t.co/5ULe7gBVNT

Lemme get this straight, the second lady of the United States is teaching children about art and reporters are attacking her religious beliefs? https://t.co/Y10PiCSZ04

So, lemme get this straight, you're some kind of journalist and you are unfamiliar with the concepts of Christianity and religious liberty? You should be embarrassed and probably find a new line of work. https://t.co/JszAIpadTR

And you @KateBennett_DC have chosen to work at a news network that openly discriminates against Christian people. https://t.co/E1K1hfmJJ8

So, lemme get this straight, a @CNN White House reporter is perplexed that a Christian school might follow Christian moral teaching. https://t.co/gjXNvPhtzn

Now do an Islamic school. https://t.co/VXhpGzbOda

It’s quite revealing that this CNN reporter described it as discrimination because that’s exactly the anti-Christian mindset that activists in the hateful LGBT community want legislators and others to have. We’ve all seen it demonstrated in the way Colorado has been persecuting a Christian baker over gay wedding cakes. And I fear that at some point states will begin making it illegal for Christians to exercise their religious freedom in employment situations, especially as it relates to churches.
