At a campaign stop in South Carolina, Joe Biden told a crowd that he was running for the United States Senate instead of the US presidency:

Biden literally says in his appeal for votes “My name is Joe Biden. I’m a Democratic candidate for the United States Senate. Look me over, if you like what you see, help out. If not, vote for the other [garbled].”
I don’t often report on Biden’s gaffes because sometimes they just aren’t that big of a deal, like mistaking that he’s in Iowa instead of Ohio. But in this case, this gaffe just makes him look really bad.
Because for one, he doesn’t even catch his mistake. He just rattles off that he’s running for Senate and keeps going. And two, it just makes him look sad, like he’s deteriorating mentally or something. Maybe not just this one gaffe, but when you pile up all the gaffes he’s made on the campaign trail and then put on top of that him mistaking his run for the presidency as a run for the Senate – well it just starts to add up. And some people will begin to question whether he’s truly fit for the office…
