Uh, Wow: Trump and his lawyers “pursue” a whopping TWENTY MILLION in damages from Stormy Daniels

From “nothing happened” to “she owes us money for tattling” in no time flat.

That is a weird story evolution even in Trump world, but it’s the path the Stormy saga is now taking. Because on Friday, court filings were made, and Trump signed on, and all kinds of stuff is breaking loose.

It seems the President and his lawyers are claiming that the porn star violated their non-disclosure agreement. You know, the agreement where they paid her to not say he had sex with her while his wife was pregnant? Yeah.

Here’s more from Business Insider:

President Donald Trump’s attorneys claim that Stormy Daniels, the porn star who says she had an affair with Trump that began in 2006, violated a nondisclosure agreement and is now liable for at least $20 million in damages, The New York Times reported Friday.

The $20 million figure reportedly represents the 20 times Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, violated that agreement, according to The Times.

“Mr. Trump intends to pursue his rights to the fullest extent permitted by the law,” one of the filings read.

Yes, that’s not just a filing on his behalf, he’s directly involved. From the New York Times:

President Trump, weighing in directly on the Stephanie Clifford case for the first time, claimed in court papers filed by his lawyers on Friday that the porn actress who alleges she had an affair with him violated a confidentiality agreement at least 20 times, exposing her to damages of at least $20 million.

Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, characterizes this as bullying, via a statement to the Times from her lawyer Michael Avenatti. “The fact that a sitting president is pursuing over $20 million in bogus ‘damages’ against a private citizen, who is only trying to tell the public what really happened, is truly remarkable — likely unprecedented in our history,” he said.

This thing isn’t even close to over or out of the news. Sorry for those who want to just “move on” but neither Stormy nor the President are, so there’s no reason for the press to.
