[VIDEO] Internal investigation finds Christie had nothing to do with ‘Bridgegate’

The law firm hired by Gov. Christie’s office said they found absolutely no evidence whatsoever that Chris Christie had anything to do with ‘Bridgegate’ or any prior knowledge of it:

FOX NY – A law firm hired by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says the governor was not involved in a plot to create gridlock near a major bridge as part of a political retribution scheme.

The taxpayer-funded report released Thursday concludes the September lane closures near the heavily traveled George Washington Bridge were intended to target a local mayor. But there was no evidence found that it was because the mayor wouldn’t endorse Christie.

The report finds that former Port Authority of New York and New Jersey official David Wildstein and ex-Christie aide Bridget Kelly were behind the closures.

The lawyers also found no evidence that Christie tied Superstorm Sandy aid for Hoboken to support for a private redevelopment project.

Federal prosecutors are investigating the lane closings. State lawmakers are also conducting their own probe.

The very first reporter asked what many consider the obvious assumption, that this law firm was hired by Christie and of course they are going to find him not guilty. The lawyer releasing the findings answered that question, basically saying that they did not work for any individual, but were hired by a public office – in this case the Office of the Governor – and thus they are obligated to report everything to the public, whatever the findings.

There are still other investigations pending, but I bet Christie will come out of this completely vindicated.
