State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said today that Kelly called the department himself and said that the NY Times report about Tillerson being replaced is absolutely not true:

So I don’t know what’s going on. The NY Times can’t be making this stuff up out of thin air, so what’s the deal? Are people in the White House trying to pressure Trump into dumping Tillerson? Or is there really a plan that the White House isn’t ready to admit exists yet?
