WATCH: College student calls out CNN for being a “purveyor of disinformation”, puts Brian Stelter on the SPOT

A brave freshman college student threw some big fact bombs at Brian Stelter today while he was participating in a “Disinformation and the Erosion of Democracy” discussion.

This college freshman, Christopher Phillips, started by noting that everyone on stage had been bashing Fox News as a “purveyor of disinformation”, but quickly turned the tables on Stelter by pointing out all of the disinformation CNN had been pushing.

“They pushed the Russian collusion hoax. They pushed the Jussie Smollett hoax. They smeared Justice Kavanaugh as a rapist and they also smeared Nick Sandmann as a white supremacist. And yes, they dismissed the Hunter Biden laptop affair as pure Russian disinformation.”

Phillips said that mainstream corporate journalists have become little more than “apologists and cheerleaders for the regime”, asking “is it time to finally declare that the canon of journalistic ethics is dead or no longer operative?”

He ends by asking Stelter if there’s something going on behind the disinformation since the mistakes of the mainstream media “and CNN in particular” all magically go in one direction, or are we all just supposed to believe this is random coincidence.

Wow, great question. Seriously, Phillips nailed like a pro.

But don’t expect a good answer from Stelter because it didn’t happen. In fact he began by saying “I think you’re describing a different channel than the one I watch” and went on to say that what Phillips accused CNN of is a “popular right wing narrative about CNN”.

You can watch the rest to hear Stelter if you want, but I wouldn’t waste my time. The real journalist in the room was Phillips and that’s definitely worth watching.
