WATCH: Here’s the Democratic lawmaker who credits Trump and hydroxychloroquine with saving her life

Michigan State Democratic Rep. Karen Whitsett, who was diagnosed with coronavirus in March, is crediting Trump’s advocacy of hydroxychloroquine with saving her life.

Watch:

This is an amazing story. Whitsett said she’d been in quarantine since March 12 and claims it was not long after that she started to feel bad. But it wasn’t until March 31st that she actually got tested and found out she had COVID-19.

And it was that day, the day of her diagnosis, that she went downhill fast. She told Laura Ingraham she went from 0 to 100 with her symptoms, which ranged from bad headaches to fluid beginning to fill her lungs.

She’d heard of hydroxychloroquine before because she had chronic lyme disease, but said that if it weren’t for Trump’s advocacy of the drug, she wouldn’t have been able to get it in her state.

It was an ordeal to even get it then. Michigan was one of the states which had banned prescriptions of the drug. But after much begging and pleading, she finally was able to get a prescription of hydroxychloroquine. She sent her husband to get it and said that within just a couple of hours her symptoms went away.

She said that if it weren’t for Trump there’s no way she would have been able to get the drug and truly believes it saved her life.
