WATCH: McConnell gives great answer on potential 2020 SCOTUS vacancy in full interview with Bret Baier

Mitch McConnell sat down with Bret Baier tonight on Special Report and you can watch that full interview below:

Among the topics they discussed were Barr’s comments today about Trump’s tweeting, impeachment, the War Powers resolution from the Senate today, the Senate refusing to take up the left-wing bills from the House, if he would confirm a potential vacancy on the Supreme Court this year, and Bernie Sanders.

I did like it when McConnell stood his ground on the Senate ignoring all the left-wing bills coming from the House. He did suggest though, in areas where both parties agree, that they would probably be able to legislate a bipartisan infrastructure bill and a prescription drugs bill. As far as the infrastructure bill, he did say it probably wouldn’t be that big though, suggesting common ground isn’t easy to find.

He was also asked by Baier that if a vacancy on the Supreme Court came open, would he hold the seat open like he did in 2016. McConnell responded that given that hypothetical, he would confirm a Supreme Court justice, explaining that in 2020 the Senate is the same party of the White House, which wasn’t the case in 2016.
