Tea Party leader Niger Innis, who is running for Congress in Nevada’s 4th District, slammed North Carolina NAACP president Reverend William Barber II for suggesting that Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) is a ‘dummy’ for the Tea Party:
Who the heck do you think you are, Rev. Barber, to say how someone should be thinking? Actually it is the races that my organization and your organization fought that felt that they could take away the right of our brethren to vote, to exercise their freedom of thought. That’s the same type of freedom of thought that you would take away from Senator Scott because he disagrees with you.
Nice. And then Don Lemon hit Barber with a great question:
What’s wrong with African Americans being conservative? Can’t he be conservative and not be called names?
Of course, trying to get a straight answer out of a Democrat is like trying to get water out of a stone and that was the case in all Barbers answers.
